Well, still no word on Thief, but did get a new plate today, I was expecting a crapton of paperwork at tax office, but all they needed was the report number and they gave me a new tag **FREE**.

Probably the only free thing the govt will ever give me!

Grin

you know you could do away with the key switch and wire in a start button hid out of the way somewhere and a single throw switch to turn the power on hid somewhere else that is easy to get to. probably be harder to steal than have a key switch and a whole bunch cheaper.....cause im just cheap.

If you ever wanted to make any motorcycle thief proof you could tuck a RFID based relay somewhere up in the seat or battery space and have the crypto-dongle on your key-ring, or just set an accelerometer based alarm on top of the bike that runs off internal batteries..

These china bikes you can properly hotwire with two wires, and the lock cylinder itself is a single-sided wafer lock made from brittle metal. I've accidentally pulled the lock core out on mine with a normal use case..

No matter what you do with tricks and technology, always remember that these bikes can just be picked up and tossed in the back of a van or truck.

Ok folks, I need some assistance with the plastic body parts for mu hawk. i'm slowly getting them stripped and cleaned but several are broken. can I use the TT250 headlight/fairing and tank panels and tail pieces? if not where can i get the OEM from. RPS has not responded to my emails.

Thanks for the assistance!

Yes, they will fit. More than likely a better plastic too. TXpowersports, 360pwersports or RPS are to only two places I know of to get OEM parts.

the tank plastics are a little different on the tt250 vs the hawk. all the other plastics are directly interchangeable. The tt250 plastics are a better quality for sure. They are actual dirtbike plastics. Though the tt250 plastics are painted.

I've broke a front fender, and a side piece that was stock hawks, they shattered on impact. However my tt250 side plastics and front fender have survived much tougher stuff with only scratches. The front fender was in a head on crash, and it was only missing paint but still in shape.

Out of shear boredom I've searched too the ends of the Internet looking for Hawk plastic. Haosen's web page is down and the plastics molding company (info molded into the plastic on the bike) looks to be just a generic moldings company. Allibabbba and the like yield nothing, no parts. I'd say CSC is your best bet. RPS is an economic miracle as they try their level best to piss off their customers. I'd buy a ton of parts if someone would vend them reasonably.

I can only get maybe orange and the older style smaller face head light
Shipping would get expensive and end up like USA prices I’d say

I'm reminded of the GY6 clone scooter communities of the early two-thousands here.. It was in most cases impossible to source plastics no matter what you were willing to spend.. The plastics were extremely brittle too..

Thanks for the info!

How are the tank plastics different, will they mount to the tank or are they completely different mounting?
