Check out this video.

Excellent job showing all the parts and explaining things.

While you got it apart take a look at the little numbers stamped on the jets. That will let us know if maybe you are overjetted.

Ehhhh... nope. Looks like another problem. When I ride my atv and go to 1/2 throttle it starts to bog after awhile. Then I let go of the throttle and the atv shuts off by itself. Don't know what the problem is. Maybe I should clean the carb or something.

My daughters would bog a bit when it was new once it warmed up and the choke was in the middle, especially on a hot day. You might need to let it warm, then close the choke out some. Just a guess.

I was going to say the opposite. Once the engine is fully warmed, you should be able to open it fully.

Or you could try both and see what happens.

On mine, pushing the lever away from the motor under the handlebar made it run better. I never actually looked at whether it was opening or closing, just assumed it was closing.

On thinking, hot day, warm air less oxygen, so need open choke to let more oxygen in.. could be W&G is right yet again. The mechanical "go-to guy" ..

Tks, I will try both methods. Also I'll play with the idle screw since it is idling hard.
