Your welcome and thank you for buying. I hope you don't mind it being PINK? I was all out of black paint JK . The center stand sure comes in handy when cleaning and lubing the chain. Please let me know if there are any issues or if you have any ideas on improvements.

A center stand is the most sensible thing for ANY motorcycle.

For update/bump/posterity purposes.

I have the steel skid plate with center stand.

The skid plate is more than adequate for bouncing off of objects. Thick enough to be very durable without being unnecessarily heavy either.

The center stand is perfect as far as balance point and location. The bike favors a forward lean with the rear tire coming about an inch off the ground. Just a bit of weight on the back end and the front wheel comes up with ease. Simply strap a nice weighty object to the rear seat and you can do any front end work you need. No more having to mess around with jack stands or a jack at all for basic service work will be wonderful.

The weight added is fairly minimal, especially for a center stand. The stand on my Goldwing weighs more than this skid plate AND stand combined lol.

Oh, and yes, I know the spring isn't installed. Still debating if I want to leave the stand on, or simply install it for maintenance duties. very quick and easy to take off and on.

wish my speedway bikes had one... but with 75mm ground clearance they may not of had enough room...

but all jokes aside
my 79 Montesa H6 enduro only has a centre stand.. must be a Spainish thing or something..

Looks good MD. Thanks for posting the picture. Putting that spring on is the hardness part of the install. Lol.

That is exactly the reason I haven't put it on yet. If I decide to keep it on then the spring will be wrestled into place. I actually have a load strap hooked on the drain hole of the skid plate and the lower bar of the stand to hold it in place. I just removed it for picture purposes.

Glad to see you're getting some use out of it. Works great for cleaning and waxing the chain. I let it idle In 1st gear while spraying the chain.

Sold out.

I have one skid plate left. if anyone is interested. After that one is gone I may get some more made but would have to have a minimum order of at least 20 to get a decent price to keep the cost down. I like to thank everyone who has purchased them. Though I didn't make a fortune off of them and can't take an early retirement I did enjoy working on them and providing something that wasn't available to the Hawk owners. So with that said, if I get enough inquiries for more I'll have more made up.

OK so resurrecting an old thread. Jerryhawk250, did you ever make any more of these? if not would you be willing to sell the plans so I can get one made locally? I have just pulled the trigger and am awaiting delivery of a shiny new Black 2019 Hawk 250, and really like the thought and effort you have put into this stand. Have been a lurker here for a while and done a bunch of reading and looking at the mods that most people are doing and this is high onmy list.

Anyway thanks

I don't have any made right now but do plan on making more. Just have to find time out my busy schedule to do so.

I have a plate coming from csc to look at, I have a great local steel supplier that can do cnc cutting, etc. I contacted jerry hawk, and he is as busy as we are. I don't want to intrude on any else here, and that is not my goal. What I might do is have one made and test it...since I don't have a hawk I might send one to jerry or megadan for approval. I really like jerrys design, just thot I could contribute here, somehow. There is a fellow on this site from Boise, that got a hawk, and I might see if that would fit his bike as well. OF COURSE, I hope I have some time as well, we have been so busy with work lately, a good thing, but frustrating. WE haven't had time to put any miles on the new BMS250!
