I am now one of you! 2016 Hawk

Hello everyone, I am new to forums and to dual sport. I just got the phone with Don at apscusa.com and I will be getting my Hawk next week! I will be reading through all the mod threads soon to see what I can start with after I get comfortable with the bike. I will definitely be changing the tires out for an off- on-road mix of tire after I get it though. I am an experienced super sport bike rider of 5+ years so I do not anticipate and issues learning to ride the Hawk on the street. I am however interested some trail riding too someday.

Welcome to the Forum and the "China Bike Family" , post pics and your 'order/ride report/overall experience' on the HAWK/apscusa when you can. Lots of HAWK riders around here (on the forum), will be easy to find any info you need

Congrats! While your waiting on it go ahead and get a couple of quarts of good motorcycle oil (the stuff that comes in it is garbage) and a good NGK plug. youll want to adjust the valves before you run it because every one so far has been shipped tight (use search, lots of threads on adjustment). also grease the speedo cable before you put the front tire on.Also buy a big bottle of blue loctite!

Welcome! I got my Hawk a little over a month ago and have been doing all sorts of stuff to it and enjoying it daily. You will too, I'm sure. ;-)

Glad to be hear

Thank you all for the wonderful welcome to the forum! I bought my Hawk from APSCUSA.com which is only 2 hours from me in TN. I will not be putting this thing together. Don at the service center there said I could ship it to them for pre assembly. He said they would use loctite and make sure it starts and runs right. Don is the man! he had so much information and really took time to talk to me about all my options with this bike. I do look forward to modding the bike though starting with a digital hawk cluster!

I would read here and adjust the valves yourself. Mainly because this will be the first of many times you,ll be adjusting them.
