TT250 chain adjuster plate

The TT250 has a very basic chain adjustment system, not much different from other bikes....except for the rear plate. I noticed that the plate on mine had rotated about 90 degrees after a brisk ride. Maybe I did not torque it down enough...not sure. The plate is pretty flimsy. With some scrap aluminum and a mill I made plates that won't slip:

notice how thin the OEM part is...and no lip to hold it in place

installed.

Obviously one of the weakest features on the TT. Add to that the fact that my swingarm needs to be squeezed down about .1" to meet the spacer, it makes chain adjustment fun. I was thinking of tack welding a few blobs on the plate to provide the same location function your milled plate does...

that plate is a great idea with the lip to keep it in place, that stock plate is very similar to what i have on my hawk, i might have to play around in the machine shop for a bit today, all i did with mine so far was to get rid of the nut and lock washer and replace them with nyloc nuts, i havnt had any issues with it loosening up.

I think tacking four blobs on the existing plate, then squaring them on the inside with a portable grinder is a very practical solution.....ARH

Nice work. My brother runs a machine shop. I'll have to get him to make me some up. I was going to just drill and put a stainless steel pop rivet in each corner but this looks much nicer.

Very nice! I think I'll have to make a set too.

Hi 2LZ, not going into the business of making stuff. Maybe CSC will offer this as an option...hint, hint.
