Yeah, it cost me a whole weeks pay pushing a lawnmower in our 2 acre back yard to buy that mag. Then I had to hide it, because my father hated motorcycles. We were a two Packard family at that time, and my dad was an immigrint from the Netherlands, and became well off by being clever plus working his butt off. He started from nothing. His first job was shucking clams in Hoboken, NJ. He took that job because everyone on the shucking crew, and on the clam boat spoke Dutch. But he worked very hard to learn English, and after two years he was fluent.
I wonder if that still happens with immigrants?

No, and it never did. My Aunt, Willimena, never really learned English, for example. Oh she THOUGHT she spoke English. But when every sentence was half or more Dutch, that isn't my idea of speaking English. She came to the USA in 1929, and never got past 1/2 Dutch in every conversation. My Dad told me he liked to go crazy trying to figure out what she was saying. I said, Dad, you sprechen Nederlandshe. He said yeah if she'd speak straight Dutch, or plain English, I could understand her. Her kids used to shrug and say "That's just Mom". Generally, Immigrants hang with other immigrants that speak the same language for support. My father, and others like him, forced himself to learn English so that they could become a success in this country.

Hey there, welcome...I just ordered one a few days ago as well...I haven't heard a ship date yet though....Maybe that's a good sign for me because they probably ship them in bulk. What color?
