I Did It Again...TyGuy's Venom X22-GT Review

So, I did it again. I sprung for an x22GT. Given gas prices around my neck of the woods, figured I'd get something efficient and easy to ride for my 25 mile commute to work that involves some heavy traffic at times. My x22 doesn't fit the bill for this and is used for local cruising.

Took longer to receive, but I expected that given shipping issues in the world as of late. It's significantly heavier than my x22. I will say this: it has much better fit, finish, and overall quality in my opinion than my x22, as well.

It is significantly faster than my x22, runs more smoothly, and handles better. It's larger overall. No rattling or anything funny like that.

...and it is WATER-COOLED!

Came well-assembled and everything I checked was tight.

Initial tips if you're considering this bike:
1) CONNECT YOUR FUEL LINE on delivery. You will find the fuel line dangling underneath. Run it to the right side of the carb.

2) Mine required an idle adjustment, so I set it to 1,500 which seems like a sweet spot. Anyone needing help with this process, let me know.

3) Don't concern yourself with installing the battery by removing the interlocking fairings. Put the battery in from underneath and save yourself the heartache.

I will continue to update this thread with my observations and discoveries.

The GT is the hybrid bike, right? Half scooter and half motorcycle?

Hey, TyGuy.

I'd be very interested in what you think of power & handling for the highway once it's all broken in. I've been looking at that bike online lately and I really like the idea. Gas mileage should be phenomenal. I was trying to decide between a big scooter or another motorcycle. This may be just what I'm looking for.

Who is the actual manufacturer? Is it Dong Fang?

Pics please!

Yes, this is the automatic sport bike with the GY6. Very efficient as far as gas mileage goes.

The manufacturer is actually Yongfu Machine Co.

She handles great. Runs very smooth. Power on tap for some highway riding for sure. If you YouTube the bike, you'll see what it is capable of on the highway when it is broken in. MotoMiles has a great video on the subject.

Wired up an LED set this weekend so I am more visible on the black bike while riding at night. Things went very smoothly.

Overall, the bike feels and rides significantly more solid than my x22. Runs great.

Cool...thanks for the answer.

Yeah...I've seen a few video's. Especially Caesar's (Small Engine Velocity).

I'd be interested in real world mpg's once you get it all broken in...and of course likes and dislikes (if any).

Enjoy the new ride and keep us posted!

So...good news: absolutely ZERO issue registering, plating, titling, and insuring over here in New Jersey. Process was a breeze.
