Want to return after a 2 year hiatus

Hi Everyone...long story short, I had a Hawk/Enforcer 2 years ago for a very short time. I sold it after owning it for about 3 months, and I've regretted it ever since. I sold it to get a street bike, but I've since sold that too. I haven't had a bike for about 2 years now.

I'd like to get back into the world of a dual sport China bike. I remember this online community as being very welcoming and helpful. Since I've been gone from this "world" for about 2 years, I was hoping to get some tips and advice about what to get and what's new.

I was searching around online and saw that Apollo has a super-motard style bike now. That seemed like a pretty nice bike, and I know that the Apollo bikes have generally received positive reviews.

Has anything changed or improved on the Hawk in the past 2 years? Any new developments?

Are there new models that I should be considering?

I purchased my bike (2 years ago) from Don at ASPUSA (or something like that; I can't remember the name of it). I was a fine transaction without any problems. Are there any vendors I should avoid? Any good recommendations?

Thanks for any advice you can give me and I look forward to hearing your feedback.

Welcome back. I knew you would be back. Lol. The Hawk DLX will be coming out in a month or two. It will be fuel injected and Dot approved for highway. I like the new Apollo Deluxe too. I think that will be the better choice.

Hey Jerry. Thanks again for all of your help 2 years ago!

What’s new about the Hawk DLX, other than the fuel injection? I saw on the ASPCUSA website that they are selling the Bashan Enforcer with an upgraded Zoghsten engine. Is this the same thing you’re talking about?

That's about the only thing that has changed on the Hawk. Don's other website has the Lifan KPR 200 which you might be more interested for street. It is capable of 75mph+ speeds and is watercooled and Fuel injected. http://shopapmc.com/New-American-Lif...line_p_58.html He also has the BMS CRP250.

Man Jery, that Lifan may only have 17 HP but it is only 330 lbs. Sure it will not be fast but it looks cool and can get on the freeway with no probs.

Check out some top speed YouTube video on it. Quiet a few with 130 to 150 kph. It makes it's HP at higher rpm's.

My thought exactly. They would sell with that setup.

American Lifan is leading Lifan worldwide in getting some 250 models created. Their KPT 200 adventure style bike will be 250 in the US. In the meantime, we are 'stuck' with their 200 offerings, but their KPM 200 cafe style bike looks very promising even if it is only a 200. I agree with you Pete about them NOT sticking their FI/LC 200 in their enduro. I was under the impression we WERE getting such a model, but we are getting a fuel injected 163 FML instead...and 'Californians need not apply' because they aren't getting CARB on that engine. On their home site, they show an aggressive-looking 250 street fighter with 25 hp, so hopefully that will be their new path as far as engines go. On American Lifan's FB page, they teased a 350 street fighter AND 450 adv. bike, so there might be even greater things to come. I would hope they do shove the 200 FI/LQ engine in an enduro for California's sake and so they don't put that engine out to pasture.

Welcome back ski rush! We have to penalize you 2 points for being gone for so long but you can get back in good graces by being the first one to get the new fuel injected Hawk

$1799 as of now. It says pre-order now, real price to be announced. Different stickers, digital dash and fi from what it looks like and fully loaded!, whatever that means. Hahaha. Maybe it means a even more restricted cat in the exhaust.

For me not sure how they can get that price for so little change. I like the simplicity of a carb. Less to go wrong and easy to clean and jet.
