Wow, so many options! I like how the vololights activate on slowing down, not just with the brakes.

Doesn't work on the RX3 - LED taillight; no place to plug it in.
Many of that type light are labeled "off road use only" or something similar.

I thought it was kinda pricey till I got it powered up, then realized it's worth every penny! It's almost painful to look at. You won't be disappointed
Did you connect the LED3 Mini light to the power input for the rear brake, and does the light illuminate only when the rear brake is applied?

Yes I went directly into the plug under the passenger seat to tap into the brake light wire. It's way to bright to have on as a tail light as it's not dimmable.

I chose the rapid flash constant pattern, so as not to be construed as an emergency vehicle. Law enforcement around here can be sticklers on stuff at times

Thanks for the reply, Tim. I assume you activate the LED3 Mini when you press the rear brake pedal; am I correct? The LED3 mini has either 16, or 32 flasher patterns. Do you remember the number of the rapid flash pattern?

I think I am going to follow your example, and install the LED3 mini; I like it best of all the options.

I am planning on adding a KC HiLites "Cyclone" to the back of my bike for an improved brake light.

How and where will you mount this. Is this like a licence plate bolt for the sides of the plate will it be too bright?

Works with either brake applied ofcourse, any time the brake light comes on. Not sure what number it is on the flash pattern. Real easy to cycle through them. With light 'on', simply ground the white wire momentarily. This changes the pattern, & saves it until you change it. Pick the one that works best for you.

Thanks, Tim. I'm sure you tapped into the Green/Yellow wire.

I found an option that won't work on the RX3, but would be cool for a standard brake light.

The Stoptix uses the same principle as the vololight ... an internal accelerometer detects any deceleration, whether or not the brakes are applied and turns on the brake light. But it's a tiny 1157 LED taillight replacement that just plugs in. $59 for a preorder or $99/pair.

Thanks for letting us know about the StopTix bulb, which will be arriving in June 2016.
