2016 handlebar issues

Just got this email from Ryan. Not a big deal.
Greetings:

We noticed while installing handguards on the 2016 RX3s that Zongshen supplied a narrower handlebar than found on the 2015 models. The 2016s come with factory handlebar end weights installed on the bars, and Zongshen cut the bar shorter to keep the overall length the same. Our guards will not fit on these bars. We’ve asked Zongshen to send wider bars to allow for fitment of our handguards. Your handguards will ship with your RX3 and we will send the wider bar to you as soon as they are delivered to us, which will be very soon. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Ryan Sarancha

Handlebars

Ryan was very responsive when I asked about my heated grip option. I decided to have the bike wired by the shop prior to shipment but not install the grips on the small bars, I'll take care of that when the new bars arrive. I'm sure other folks will arrive at the same conclusion but I thought I'd share with the group. Cheers!

S/W Ryan and Sara on the same issue as well yesterday. Decided to hold off on taking delivery until the new bars were in from Zongshen so the heated grips and handguards could be installed on the new bars - one less thing I need to fiddle with upon delivery.

Ryan stated that it should not extend my delivery date by more than a week.

CSC really is holding up their end of the bargain when it comes to customer service - great communication and every time I do call with questions I am treated with the utmost courtesy and respect. Two thumbs up so far!

Hi Rideabout. Not wanting to highjack the thread, but are you going to the Clubmans All British Show on 2 April?

"Issues" made it sound as if there were problems with failures, such as weak or breaking. So it's actually just that something has to be done to accommodate certain accessories.

Thinking back, I don't remember leaving stock bars on any bike after my second one. Handlebars are usually the first thing a rider changes to make it Their Bike. I haven't changed mine on the RX3 yet, undecided whether I want to go higher and wider to accommodate my lanky body, or go lower for a slightly more sporting posture for commuting.

To revive an old thread, have the new handlebars arrived for the 2016 models yet? I want to install my handguards and heated grips. I may just buy some. I like the shape of the stockers, but need wider. I cant get expensive ones, maybe some Tusk brand. Had good luck with them on my DR.

I'm seriously thinking of having mine powder coated black. I saw a photo either here or over at ADV of someone who had them and they looked sweet.

I called Ryan. Unless you bought the CSC handguards, you are not going to get a set of new bars sent to you.

The bars that shipped with the bike are protaper and will work with other handguards just fine.
