So on the "inside" of the fork? Ok, I was thinking: washer | wheel, spd sensor |
With the " | " being the forks.

How's the fork oil that comes with it? Did you change it out? Should it be fine, or docypu recommend changing it out while I have it still somewhat apart?

I was thinking the same thing. But I'll leave the brake fluid for now. I think I'll leave the fork oil as well. I was going to do it while I have it semi-apart , but I don't plan on doing any hard core riding. And hopefully, mostly, on-road/pavement.

And if anyone wants to do the airbox mod, I had my dremel out and ready. But just ended up using a razor blade. I planed on cutting out as much as I could with the razor, and using the dremel to get nice and close to the edges. But the razor blade worked perfectly, I didn't need the dremel.

I'm slowly building my Hawk now. I changed the fork oil since this is the easiest time to ever do it. It didn't look too bad. At first, the left fork had less oil than the right. Let it drain overnight and they both came out the same. 200ml. I changed the brake fluid also. Couldn't tell any difference. The manual called for dot 3, the brake cover said dot 4. The oil is draining out overnight now. At least I'll know exactly what is in the various fluid systems from the start. It's a great project so far. This is a good group to compare and learn from.

Honey have you seen my favorite bowl? We also need more rock salt in the water softener...

That oil is nasty looking. Maybe they don't recycle in China, they just send the oil out of the country in motorcycles.
