Motocross 250 ATV

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2004-...QQcmdZViewItem

I am looking at this, but the lack of 5th gear concerns me.

If it was one of the big names I'd say "go for it" but it isnt so unless you already have one like it and need parts or just feel incredibly lucky I'd stay away from it.

5th gear being blown in a 2004 doesnt sound good and that means it is either poorly built or they ragged on it so either way it sounds bad.Unless you can find a forum that explains a strange quirk with 5th on those.

Have you searched for a parts source yet and found one? if you can find the parts you'd still need to tear it down or send it out for repair.

LOL or you could ride the way it is and hope it doesnt lock up on you.

These are just my opinions and thoughts it really is totally up to you.

I don't think it is worth the $400 asking price. I just saw it listed and it is only 10 miles away. If it is truely a yamaha clone engine then parts may be easily to get.

You'd be better off putting that $400 towards a new one anyway atleast you'd start with a brand new machine or wait, hold it, I'll find it, I posted this on another site, almost got it, ahhh HERE it is.

Or watch the or this that better shows the size of it.

OK I'm done.......sorry.

He wants to much...plus in that one picture it looks like the left side had a broken suspension...Seems to lean a little..

I was checking this one out...1500 bucks less than the seller claims he bought his for.

If you do end up getting one and it looks like a utility type machine make sure it has 4WD so it will atleast be useful or is you just want a 2WD look at the sport ATV's.

This one is a raptor 350 CLONE.
This 4WD-ATV looks decent.

Heres something worth taking a look at 93 HONDA FOURTRAX 300 with REBUILT rearend 4x4 NO RES and another good one to check out 2004 Polaris SPORTSMEN 500 and here is a cheap "fixer-upper" 1987 Polaris TRAIL BOSS.

You could look around and find something that is fairly common and slowly piece together a decent machine for not to much cash.

The one thing I see a lot of on EBAY is people selling vehicles without titles and here in michigan they are required to get them registered so it can be a pain sometimes.

I may be allowed about $500. That buys me mostly someones used up japanese ATV. I actually found a classic Cub Cadet tractor that I could actually use and get without getting into trouble. According to the wife, I already have too many toys. I may be able to sneak the tractor home.

Thanks for the ATV suggestions.

Also how do you convert the ebay links like that?

AHH thats a secret I learned from someone on MotoredBikes.COM
Change this >"your link here" to this >"your link TITLE"

Look closely and you will see all you have to do is ADD a "="(equal sign) and move the ] in front of with your title between]between

LINk
LINK]TITLE

Test it out with the preview and see if it works then post.

Yeah I like it because instead of that big ugly link there you can label the link whatever you want and make it neat and clean for others who are reading the post.

The MotoredBike.com site just did a software change/upgrade and their site now just highlights the title area so all you have to do is type in a title and its all done, very very nice.
