I bought this from a dealer locally for $849 plus tax. It took about 2 hours to assemble.

This scooter had a lot of storage area under the seat, a "glove box" and the rear luggage.

This Scooter over all is of good quality. It has LED running lights, turn signals, and brake lights. The GY6 engine runs and sounds good. It has emergency flashers but the switch to turn the flashers on is low quality and you have to play with it to make the flashers on both sides come on. The horn currently is not working but I won't be able to trouble shoot that until after Christmas. Could be just a disconnected wire. I have worked everyday so far in December and probably won't get a day off until January, I even have to work Christmas. I had to carve out time to put the scooter together before I left for work. I still need to get rid of the fish oil and replace it with Rotella. I did some research on Indiana scooter laws. Starting this year Indiana requires Scooter riders to have a motorcycle endorsement on their drivers license which my wife does not have.

Nice looking scoot at a fair price.

Rotella is not required for a GY6. I use synthetic 10W30 in those engines, to give them every advantage. It is also wise to change the gear oil in the rear.

Owner reviews are always interesting . . .

Performance modifications and wide-open-throttle abuse appear to significantly contribute to the early demise of so many GY6 125/150 engines . . 60MPH+ expectations from a 50MPH engine. Avoiding high RPM's and cylinder head temperature, along with frequent oil changes and periodic valve clearance adjustments, seems to prolong longevity.

Thanks for the reminder on the gear oil I forgot to mention needing to change that. Thanks for the info on the oil. I have been using Rotella in the GY6 quad not knowing it was the wrong oil.

Thanks for the advice. Shouldn't be a problem as my wife probably won't get on it until spring and I'll probably have it broke in by then. (her present but I'm sure she will let me play with it.) We have a Tao Tao gy6 150 quad that we have road the poop (censored) out of that is still going strong in spite of unknowingly using the wrong oil (regular oil changes with wrong oil). I've been very impressed with the engine on the quad, it has already went further then I expected it too.

I picked up the scooter today on the way to work and noticed the headlights weren't working. I thought they were working when I put it together so may have more electrical issues. I put the scooter together pretty fast due to limited time so didn't have time to change fluids and locktite everything so that I would be together before Christmas. I will go through it sometime this week properly and get everything working right hopefully. I started right up when I loaded it in the truck today but definitely need to get rid of the fish oil in engine and rear gears.

I'm not saying that Rotella is wrong. I'm saying that you're free to use more slippery oil with friction modifiers, to free up every bit of power. Any synthetic 10W30 from Walmart will do the trick. You could probably run 5W30 in colder weather if you like.
