Do I have to empty old gas from my carb?

So my ATV wasn't starting for a few months. I randomly decided to pull out the fuel lines... and all the fuel that came out was a dark, rich purple. Its not dyed, because every time I filled my tank up it was clear. So I was thinking maybe that's why it wasn't starting, because the fuel was old.

But now it still doesn't start. Can it be because there is still old bad fuel in the carb that needs to be emptied out? Or is the problem something else.

Thanks!

Jets probably clogged from the old fuel. Clean 'em out.
