Melbourne Skyteam/Laro V-Retro/V-Raptor Rider

Hey all, (another) Melbourne based Skyteam/Laro V-Retro/V-Raptor rider here. Judging by a quick search it looks like there may be a couple of us.

Picked this one up last year with around 6000km on it and it's been my daily ride as it make for a nice simple and fun commute. So far so good and for the money has been a great little bike.

At the moment the only things I've had a chance to change are to put on a pair of drag bars, some bar end mirrors and take of the front guard as the stock white thing was hideous. Anyway, here it is in its current(ish) state: http://instagram.com/p/eRUvUohxId/. Only other thing that has changed since then is I've dropped the stock muffler.

Hoping to get into the Kustom Kommune over the next few months and cut down the rear of the frame, cut down and black out the fenders (including the front one, as riding without one in the rain sucks) and put some nice clean smoked indicators on.

I know a few others have discussed / installed pod filters. I'm still a little undecided on that, but if anyone can provide any solid arguments for / against I'd love to hear.

Also, if anyone can point me in the direction for a service manual for these things I would be forever indebted. My google fu seems to have failed me on this front.

Welcome, KimBurgess!

Sweet V-Raptor! We don't get those bikes where I live, but I'm quite familiar with the engine. If you feel that the stock airbox is poor quality or you just want to change the looks, go with a pod. Otherwise, the stock airbox is always best. If you go to a pod, you'll need to bump up the slow and main jet sizes to compensate. Finding jets might be a bit of a challenge, which is why I always buy a 30mm Mikuni on eBay. They're usually available for less than $40 USD, including shipping.

Please start a new thread, so we can follow your progress at the Kustom Kommune. We have another member who did just that.

hi there,
i bought it last wednesday, unfortunately i couldnt take it with me. I bought it in Frankfurt which is about 400 km from Munich. I was on my way to munich by car and i just stopped there to have a look at it and bought it spontaneously. It will be delivered by a lorry on Monday or tuesday.

I ordered some Parts in Japan
http://japan.webike.net/SUZUKI/RV200+VANVAN/563/mtop/

a flat seat and a new front-fender and a sonic 300 exhaust.
I will upload some Pictures when it all arrived

Michael

Michael,

Welcome to these forums. X2 on everything Weldangrind said. It is a pleasant surprise when someone provides such helpful information on his very first post.

Thanks for the welcome all and the awesome resources posted so far.

migu, is the manual bound or is it something that can be fed into a scanner to capture the whole lot? I'd love to get my hands on the full thing.
