Now that's a nice thought, Pete. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. But, at 80 years old, I suspect my motor cycling days are behind me. Wish somebody around here owned one, maybe he'd let me hold a wrench or two while he worked on it. Probably have to supply my own spoke wrench, though. Most folks don't know they need them...ARH

I already had another CR member express interest in climbing MT Washington. That would be sweet! I'm doing it in 2018. ARH looks like you go about 9 months to prep your hawk for the climb. It would be an honor to share a lane with you.

Coming from your place, you could lead them across from just north of Burlington, Vermont to Owls Head, NY on the ferry. Across Lake Champlain. Beautiful scenery....ARH

I think a Hawk meet, greet, and ride would be a blast. I don't know if I would be so keen as to ride my Hawk that whole way though... I would have to take a week off work just to get there.

I was thinking along the lines of trailering up to a member's home somewhere closer then ride the rest of the way.

Good way to blow the cobwebs out of your Jeep Comanche. But yes, it would be a hell of a long way for you to come....ARH

Are there any threads that explore what all the wires from the stock hawk speedo are? I've been having trouble finding anything.

I am about to attempt to wire up my old stock speedo to my friend's magician, it has the same crimp pin style but different quick connects. The old one was smashed by a helmet when the wheel dug in in some sand.

Search mjstef's threads. I think he had it posted somewhere on here.

Oops Pet Peeves #'s 49 & 50

Yeah, pet peeves. Folks who don't read enough posts on this site before buying (in the case I'm thinking of) a Hawk. Not doing due dillegence, in other words. There are oceans of words on this site about "sorting out the Hawk" for the last couple of YEARS for pity's sake! Actually three years, believe it or not. Three years of accumulated experience, and too lazy to read it! My sympathy for self-inflicted wounds is even skimpier than it used to be. Even Hawk Talk has pages of information on the problems Hawks have from the factory. Almost all of them easily solved. IF you know how to use a wrench - - or want to learn. If you want to learn, we'll be happy to help you. The Hawk is a 1200.00 dollar motor cycle. It is basically a good motor cycle - but you'll have to put some sweat equity, banged knuckles, and maybe blood and tears to get it there. And the other peeve? Stuff like Gee, I'm like totally upset, (Dude) because I'm having tire trouble all the time. They won't hold air! AND YOU BOUGHT A DUAL PURPOSE MOTOR CYCLE? You've never heard that with a dual-sport, you have to be on a first name basis with your tool box? Jeez, give me a break!!!!ARH
