Kymco Myroad 700i Review
Kymco has a 700cc, fuel injected scooter coming to the United States.

With the Honda Silverwing coming in at a few hundred dollars less, I can't see the Kymco making a lot of headway. The competing BMW and Suzuki scoots are only a few hundred more.
I'm fascinated by the big scooter craze. You have the ability to carry a few bags of groceries and a passenger on ~700cc, with pseudo-sportbike handling. If you were carrying a passenger on a similarly-sized sportbike, you'd have room for a map and a pair of gloves.

I thnk it's a Baby Boomer phenomenon.
Older more out of shape guys who would like to start or keep riding but have a hard time with the balance, low speed manuvering, height, shifting, and riding postion of a motorcycle. I don't dislike the maxi-scooter thing. I see a need and a place for them. The day may come one would suit me well. I think Aprilia makes one. Italian might suit me. I hope Ducati NEVER makes one. It would be like a Ferrari minivan.

Kymco is a Taiwan company. Quality is nearly Japanese. They have their place. Easy to ride. Low maintenance. Good weather protection.

Indeed, Kymco manufactures excellent products.
However, I wasn't aware the Kymco scooters cost nearly as much as the well established competition.  Nevertheless, it's nice to see more competition in the marketplace.

Imagine the difference on a cross country trip of how many Honda vs. Kymco dealers you would find.
Plus the difference in price would buy the gas for the cross country trip, both ways.

The Kymco fared pretty well in the 2013 Uber Scooter Shootout.

For the prices and features, I would choose the BMW. However, Kymco has made a nice entry into this class, and I am sure they will improve. Nevertheless, Kymco needs to drop the price of this scooter if it is going to compete with BMW, Suzuki, and Honda.
Perhaps the Kymco scooter will be discounted more than the competition?

I love Kymco scooters. The downtown 300i has been my dream scooter for almost 2 years now (still can't find a used one local). But, for the price, I'd take the Burgman 650. Don't get me wrong, BMW makes an amazing bike, and their scoot is really nice looking, and I know it will hold out in the long run. But, there's a good reason why the Burgman has maintained the go to maxi scooter for a while now.
