Idle screw setting when tuning
How high do you set your idle with the idle screw before you begin tuning the AF screw?
Turned in To 1500? Backed out to just barely hanging on? Once you find the best sounding idle with the AF screw, then what do you do with idle screw? Thanks

I backed the idle out to barely running, then found the highest idle from A/F then lowered the idle and repeated until I couldn't get anything more out of A/F. Then I turned the A/F slightly rich like a 1/3 turn and increased idle to normal, around 1700 RPM.
Do this after the engine warms up and the enrichment solenoid deactivates. |

I have since found a good idle with my 17.5 pilot. 1200 or so rpm
There is no automatic enrichment on this bike

You back out or turn in the A/F screw to the fastest possible setting, then you set the idle speed using the throttle/idle adjustment screw.
