Bad Starter?
Need help diagnosing a bad starter, charged the battery up, have full illuminated headlights/panel. When I press the starter button can hear a click coming from the engine area but nothing more. The headlights/panel dims for a split second at the click and nothing more. Is it a burned out starter?
Mine is carbureted, my leg is sore from kick starting, Im ready to fix the issue...took me so long to get it running yesterday from kickstarting this morning the tendons behind my knee have me limping. |

I suffered the same issue on my Beta, single click and nada. Also the power wire would heat up after a few times as well as the battery quickly draining. I removed the starter and found several of the magnets pulverized inside and the armature struggling to turn.. you should check the starter

Good call. The starter is really easy to remove, and open up. I had a short between the windings armature and the plate holding the brushes on my new Templar X last year. Easy fix with a Dremel. Worked perfectly after reinstall.
If unfixable, I have a new Titan DLX starter: https://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=33799

OK replaced the starter, still no good. Do these things have Solenoids?

Yep, usually close to the battery. Follow the main positive wire from the battery terminal and you should run right into it.

I don't know your specific bike so I don't know if it has a specific style. Most of these bikes just use generic ones that are easy to find with a google search. "Motorcycle Starter Solenoid"
This one is more or less what most Hawk style bikes use. https://www.amazon.com/AHL-Solenoid-...A2052Q8QN6I6YM Just match up the style and connector with what is on your bike and go from there. I keep a spare one of those, an ignition coil, and a CDI laying around for "just in case" moments. They are so cheap, why not? It would require changing the connector style, but this one has my interest. "Premium" If it is actually better, who knows, but it's still only 12 bucks https://www.ebay.com/itm/26534470210...UaAu3uEALw_wcB

Starter Issues
I did a write-up about the "cables" on my Hawk that run from the battery to the solenoid and from the solenoid to the starter. I had so many problems getting the starter to turn the engine over...what I discovered was the so called "cables" are nothing more than thick wires and they weren't delivering enough power to either the solenoid or the starter. I replaced both with thicker copper cables and its made a big difference.
