gotta love this quote from the RPS site:
"The Magician is a lightweight version of the popular Hawk 250. This unit may not have the Hawk's aggressive acceleration, but is better suited for casual riders, with superior gas mileage."

that may mean there are some tuning differences. the primary changes to the hawk revolve around either sprocket changes, or carb tuning with a mikuni. you may have to tinker with carb jetting to find the sweet spot for the Magician.

Make sure you go over the bike at assembly carefully and check all fasteners. Also, make sure all cables are adjusted properly and that the chain is adjusted properly and the rear wheel aligned.

Odds are, it will come jetted very lean so after you get some miles on it, you may want to change the carb or find some jets for the stock carb.

Post pics when you get it! We like shiny things....

Check out motocheez on youtube. He has one and he does a solid review of the Magician. He also has some other vids on the Magician. It's also one of the bikes I am considering to train my soon to be 14-year-old son how to ride.

Motocheez shows the bike as quite fast in his videos.

Which brings me to--watch Motocheez videos on his Magician; start with this one...

It's surprising to hear anything about OK in my area of SC, but I have actually heard of Beaver,OK. A fellow advrider member attended one of our local meet n greets. He was talking about traveling AR, where he lived, and parts of OK. He mentioned passing through a neat little area called Beaver,OK. It seems your little town maybe a sweet spot for future adventure riders. I know I'd like to pass through there on my way out west.

The best one is the $86.00 one. It uses a starting circuit instead of a choke butterfly for cold starts. But most people, (not as fussy as me) get along fine with the $30.00 one, which has the butterfly choke. Look on e-bay.....ARH

Before you buy a Magician, watch ALL of Motocheez's videos on the Magician. If I recall correctly, he is 5'10" - 220 lbs, and says the Magician is way too small for him-uncomfortable to ride.....ARH

I have two of these and they run great. Currently unavailable but that's just Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Here's another:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mikuni-VM26-...mtr&rmvSB=true

Here's the jetting options:

http://jetsrus.com/a_jets_by_carbure...-486_pilot.htm

http://jetsrus.com/a_jets_by_carbure...arge_round.htm

Depending on your altitude and exhaust options, I usually run anywhere between a 110 and 115 on the main and a 25 or 30 on the pilot.
Slide clip in the forth position down and idle mixture screw set at 2 turns out, then adjust from there.
