Hawk Seat Dillema

My bike has been an absolute pleasure but if there was one thing I could change about the hawk from day one it's the seat! I'm not a fan of how it's angled down and has a step seat where the rider sits. I lose seat height and always feel like I'm sliding forward(burns my ass). Do you guys know of any after-market seats that would work on the hawk? I would love to find one that would give it a flatter style similar to the honda xrl or suzuki dr and give it a boost in seat height!

Appreciate any suggestions y'all

I couldn't agree more with you! The hawk seat rolls forward abruptly and crowds you forward to the tank to the point where you're practically sitting smack on top of your unmentionables.

I have thought about pulling the staples on seat vinyl and shaving the foam to lengthen the driver seat area so it isn't so prominently sloping forward, I think even an inch would make a world of difference. I have watched a few videos and it doesn't look that difficult, the foam can be shaped or sculpted with a rasp, or even a hand grinder or belt sander....sort of on my to do list, but I'm afraid of making an ungodly mess out of a nice looking seat :(

What size did you go with and if you were to order it again, would you pick a different size?

I'll probably take my seat to Bright Auto Upholstery, maybe we can both go at the same time and ask for a 2 for 1 discount?

My BMW F650 had a custom seat and the marine grade vinyl gripped the seat of my pants really well, no sliding around. I think I'll try to get the same type of material. It was a Mr. Ed's Moto custom handcrafted seat.

Maybe I should go to a marine upholstery place such as Channel Marine?

Thanks for the input guys! I think I do want to go with a custom seat. Might be pricey and hard to find but very worth it. http://www.seatconcepts.com/products...tegory=1671356

^This is exactly what I want done to mine. Going to contact them about a possible custom seat like this for the hawk

I talked to China, they said they are gonna change the seat. Could take a year, but they said they'd do it.

Yes, I'm in Portland and will definitely want to check out what you come up with if I don't beat you to it. My Hawk is on it's way up from California as I type. Just looking at pictures I knew the seat was going to require customising. I hated the stock BMW F650 seat and can see the stock Hawk seat is far, far worse.

Yeah it's my least favorite thing about the bike. I'm looking into any and everything I really want a taller and flatter sitting situation
