It is a bs200gy-9 and it set me back $1129 altogether. It is my first Chinese bike so I am excited to see why it can do and how reliable it is. It will see mostly gravel roads and a little bit of slab. Anybody has any experience with this particular bike? I assembled it using locktite blue and red on just about every fastener I saw. Really good range for the little fuel tank. I will run one more fuel tank and change the fish oil that came with it. The finish and fit is actually very good. Much better than I expected even the tires are dual sport. I would say 70/30 but a nice surprise. It came with 17/19so I got some spares that I can change to in case I need more dirt friendly tires.

Nice looking bike. I recommend that you don't ride another mile with that crap oil in there. Most of us use 15W40 diesel oil; the brand doesn't matter.

That's a nice looking motorcycle. Thanks for posting the photos.

Indeed, a quart of motor oil doesn't cost very much. I think it's wise to change the motor oil without further delay. I use 15W/40 motor oil in all my motorcycles.

I have been away for awhile..lurking mostly.. Now getting ready after the holidays to make a purchase. I have seen this bike adverted on a couple of online retailer sites. Interested to hear your experiences with the Bashan made cycles. Looks nice!
And yes..1000X yes..DO dump the shipping oil! You are gonna tear up that engine if you run that bike much longer with it in it..

CHANGE THE OIL!!!

I like the orange which we all agree is the fastest color! I wish they would put racks on these bikes like they used to--only the 250 comes stock with a rack, and I believe only one of the 250 models comes with one from these Bashans, which is my one complaint for you guys buying these. Keep us posted on your bike since you live in a dry climate and can ride it regularly!!

Well I did the oil change and took it out again and it was a blast. I kept paying attention for any rattles or loose bolts and nothing so far. I figure after the holidays I will get busy building me a rack with side mounts for soft bags. Then I was thinking about putting a different speedo with a tachometer so that I know how fast I am revving the little monster. I am really happy with the purchase and the funny thing is that I keep running into guys that like the little bugger but as soon as I tell them that it is a chinese bike they give me a weird look and they start telling me the stories of these guy and that bike but nobody has actually owned one. I have always gone my own way and I guess this time is not different. I remember riding that old beast in the picture and everyone said I was nuts.

I hadn't noticed before, but that's the highly coveted counter-balanced motor. I'd love to get a hold of one.

The plot thickens for me.. I am going to be pulling the trigger on a dual sport mid January and have seen a few of these Bashan built bikes in threads here on China Riders.. Looks like a decent bike for the $1200 outlay.

I wasn't sure how much assembly needed to be done other than the handlebar install, front wheel and tank plastics. Looks pretty basic.

Torn between this model Bashan (balanced crank engine?) the other Storm 200/250 (non balanced crank engine?) or the TMEC enduro.

The balanced crank(?) motors are more reliable?? less vibration??

What (if any) are the differences between the Storm models and the WILL stickered models (besides the obvious)

Sorry for seemingly jacking this thread.. just getting ready to do this..finally!

Great looking bike BTW! Congrats!!

Without knowing it I got lucky with that motor then. I had no clue when I bought it, but I really like like how smooth it is. It runs as smooth as any Suzuki or Yamaha motor I ever owned. The assembly is minimal and straightforward. It took me about 2 hours because I kept taking bolts out to put thread lock on them if I didn't do that I think it would have been less than an hour with no special tools. I also cleared out the brake fluid and filled both front and rear reservoirs with DOT4 brake fluid just because I did not know how good the original fluid was. It came with more street tires than dirt but I have been running it at the Nellis dunes and it has been handling it ok. For more aggressive riding I will put more aggressive tires. I took a spill with it ok while taking a curve in the sank and it rolled a couple of times but the only damage was the tip of the front brake lever otherwise the little bugger took all the punishment I gave it. The oil change was fast and easy and I figure I will run it for 200 miles with this oil and then I will change it again just to be sure.
