Hi, y'all.

New member here, joining from New Orleans. Until recently the only Chinese bikes I knew about were the original CJ750's, and only because they are close relations to my Ural.

I've lately become interested in the CSC lineup. Specifically the RX4, as I am a fan of the ADV bikes, but not that interested in the size (and price) of the BMW GS and Triumph Tiger lineup. I do have a '06 Tiger, and it is an amazing ride, but it is really tall and heavy, and frankly too much bike for my riding taste.

I also saw that Chang Jiang has a new sidecar lineup in the Peking and the Dynasty. And a marque called Yingang has a Ural/CJ knockoff that looks "interesting"

I had two Changjiang 750s in the 1980s, the first a modernized one with OHV BMW-knockoff motor and modern-style paint treatment. The second one was the familiar military green side-valve version. Bought 'em in Beijing when I worked at the US embassy there. Brought the green one back to the States but eventually sold it.

These new ones are much more advanced in terms of the powerplant, and with drive sprockets you can change up the gearing. The old ones were shaft drive, and geared for low speeds.

The Yingangs are 150cc, 400-lb sidecar bikes with 12" tires. Meh.

Yeah, s member at Soviet Steeds posted some promo videos of the YG. Even in the promos the bike looks a little, well, little and a bit unstable.

I never expected the CJ650's to make it stateside, but they do look good.

I sure would be to up to that. Just give me advance notice as most of my weekends have been tied up playing music at local festivals and night clubs. We just pulled 4 gigs from Friday to Sunday. It was a long weekend and we start again on Thursday night through Sunday.

It is nice to have festival season and live music back.

Just did JazzFest this weekend. Man, I missed it the last two years. Always enjoy watching The Lost Bayou Ramblers live. Had a friend playing with The Who, but left them early to catch Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit do an absolutely killer set.

Let us know where and when your group is playing.

My daughter is with the Don Rich Band along with Rougarou 2 band this Friday and Saturday night down at the Harbor Light Marina in Cocodrie, La. He usually has me sing a few song with him. But that would be a long ride for you. It would be a nice ride though as i usually ride down that way for a day ride. The problem down there right now is that the room they rented out at the Marina all got damaged from Hurricane Ida and the only hotel down there was destroyed. We will bring our camper down there to sleep in instead of driving back and forth. I'll have to look at our schedule and see when we have something a little closer for you.
