How good are the watercooled 300's?

What engine are they based on? Are they reliable?

It was a dead link, so I'm not sure what it looks like.

That said, I'm not ready to buy a Chinese water cooled anything, yet. I think that the Baja 400 is a close copy of the Yamaha Bruin, and I believe it to be air and oil cooled. I'd gamble on that.

Were you looking at the "ATV-300", the sport model $2049 ?

It looks like other chinese engines but with higher CC's, I question the loss of fifth gear to get reverse though.

I shy'd away from the chinese quads only because they seem to use really bad materials in the frames and lacked engineering but that is based on 2006-2007 observations and I'd hope by now they have made improvements.

The one I was looking at was watercooled. I'd be less reluctant about an air cooled 300cc Honda clone. I've been pretty happy with the Honda clones.

I can't disagree on the poor materials and engineering choices they made on a lot the quads...but when you can snag them for $100 or less it's hard to feel cheated. The two full size ones I've got really only need to have real front shocks installed to be pretty good quads.

I had a watercooled Chinabike, a PitsterPro 400, and it's watercooling system was a source of much wasted time, stress, energy, and money. :evil:

YMMV, but when it comes to Chinese 'engineering' keep it simple and stick with air cooled.

I'd be inclined to stick with air cooled on a chinese machine as well... I've not heard of anybody with one that hasn't had problems associated with the cooling system. All the way from leaks to cracked water jackets. I'm sure they'll get it right eventually, I just don't think they're there yet

guys i have a 2007 watercooled 200cc huansong its decent i just have trouble adjusting the idle and a bigger battery for cracking amps
