At the pipe its about the same at 150 degrees. The diamond bits helped with enlarging the header flange holes. That took some work.

My handy work on the heat shield. Just exhaust web expoxied on both sides to a piece of sheet metal. I can actually touch this while the bike is running. right behind it the pipe is too hot to touch!
