TT250 Carburetor Swap Recommendations

Would like to swap the stock carburetor that came with the CSC TT250 for a carburetor that will fit without any modifications and that has an easy to access idle screw and an easy to access adjustable pilot screw. Is their such a carburetor available?

The stock carburetor only has an adjustable idle screw and you have to modify the pilot screw, which is on the bottom of the carburetor. To make adjustments, you have to remove the carburetor each time.

Appreciate any thoughts or recommendations!

You can buy a kit on ebay that has a longer head on the idle mixture screw you can turn it with a small screwdriver bit with a short piece of hose on it Have my screw set at 3 turns out, 800' elevation. Runs really nice.

I put that very same one on my apollo 250. Changed the main and raised the needle one notch. Awesome carb! My engine is the overhead cam, no counter balance. Cranks with no choke most of the time. The second best mod I have done.

Does the choke stay in whatever position you set it on that?

If you aren't replacing it with a pumper, there is absolutely no point in replacing it at all.

I had to do a little flexing and fidgeting to get it to stay on choke or half choke. now it hold on half good and barely holds on full. The good part is that I don't use any choke now.

Its_not_a_honda,

Somehow I missed that thread but I glad you linked it so I can see what you went through and your right it was a substantial difference in response and ease of starting!
