Hawk 250 fairings

Are the CSC fairings drop-in replacements for the OEM Hawk 250 fairings? For example, the side body panels...

The prices on the TT250 fairings are MUCH better than what others seem to be (over) charging.

short answer, yes. There has been a couple of Hawk owners that used TT250 plastics.

I just received a callback today regarding two left side/rear fairings I ordered from CSC, for their TT250. "PK" at CSC recommended I not complete the order, warning that the fairings, though they look very similar, were not an exact fit. If it wasn't $70, including about $20 to ship, I'd go ahead and see how close they fit. But he said he thought a Texas retailer had the ones for the Hawk fit. I'm now checking into Texas Power Sports, but though I've found a front fender and a few other parts, I don't see the left side rear fairings that I need.

I would advise against ordering from TPS, they are a shady outfit and rarely get anything to you in a timely manner if at all.

The tank plastic and the plastic over the muffler are the pieces I'd be hesitant about because the tank and muffler are different on a TT250. It's possible the plastic is the same but it is more of a gamble than the other pieces.

So it looks like the side body panels do indeed fit on the hawk. I am more or less interested in the RIGHT side body panel (muffler side) as the little nubs have broken off and it doesn't hold well onto the Hawk. I can't see the muffler cover working because of the aftermarket exhaust, can't even use the OEM one any more.

Thanks pcspecialist; nice Hawk ChrisWNY. So, Texas Power Sports and Ricky Power Sports (360powersports.com), are both in Arlington, Texas. I called TPS and was told RPS is their supplier. I found Hawk fairings here, though they're pictured in blue, with no color selections when ordering. The "Hawk 250 Left Side Cover" I need was $55. We'll see how they do on delivery and parts matching.

FYI that the CSC side body panels are a drop-in perfect fit on the Hawk. No modification needed, they fit right on. I ended up replacing the right-side body panel as the plastic nubs on the stock panel had broken off so it was fitting rather loosely on there.

The CSC fairings are a little nicer (2 pieces instead of 1, so you need to order the cap + the panel) and the black/charcoal panel looks great on a black Hawk.

Speaking of fairings.. is it better to use plastidip or spray paint? Both look fine when new but long term which is better? Thanks.

@ChipToothy - YMMV with either method. From my own experience, neither Plastidip nor spray paint hold up very well against the elements. They all seem to chip, crack, and peel over time, but look great when new as you noted.

If you're going to spray paint plastic fairings, make sure you use a spray paint that is flexible and designed for plastics. Plastics flex therefore so must the paint. Krylon makes a fabric spray paint (you can find it at auto and dept. stores) that does pretty well on plastic because it's flexible. If you wipe down the plastic surface well with 91% Iso alcohol before you spray, and maybe do a little sanding, you will usually get better results.

On metal I've had good luck with this stuff - https://www.krylon.com/products/supe...tallic-finish/ ...I used it to re-paint my Hawk's front forks (which were marred a bit from shipping) and they turned out great. The paint has held up well so far and looks as good as the original paint.

It's been a while, but I went ahead and ordered from 360sports.com (RPS). I can see why they've gotten the reputation mentioned. No paperwork accompanying used and (reasonably) scratched fairings. I knew they were blue but the post didn't indicate they weren't new. I'm satisfied with my first attempt at painting plastic. I did about three rounds of wet sanding and used a paint adhesive.

I'm planning to plastic my hawk plastics soon. The csc rear brake is exact, the side peices as everyone has said, the fender is the same.

The tt250 foot pegs have different bolt hole distances, by about 3 mm. I drilled new holes and repainted them satin black and have them installed on the hawk.

The rear wheel of the tt250 fits the hawk exactly, although it's a direct drive(which I like) the hawk is a cush drive. Id say the tank fairings look like they won't fit maybe because of the different tank. I can't tell by their parts pictures though
