Guys:

We issued a press release on the RX-3's EPA approval. RideApart.com picked it up, and then Yahoo Autos featured the RideApart article. People are coming out of the woodwork with negative comments on Chinese bikes. You might be interested in following and commenting on this. The link is here:

I read some of the comments, Joe. The only way to shut them up, is when this bike turns out to be a success. People forget how they said the same thing about the Japanese in the late 60's, early 70's.

If the included RX-3 shop manual provides enough guidance to diagnose a deficient throttle body position sensor . . please post a link for a USA replacement resource which shows the price of the various Delphi EFI system elements.

Some people will never believe you, even after you prove them wrong. I have ridden my Zongshen ZS200GY-2 for over 67,000 miles, and some people still don't believe it's reliable. The biggest naysayers are the people who have absolutely no experience with Chinese bikes in general, let alone Zongshen bikes in particular. Only the ignorant (those lacking in knowledge) are arrogant, and the more ignorant a person is, the more arrogant he is.

Yahoo Auto is definately the spot where the collective wisdom of the Adv crowd hangs out, NOT! After reading a few of the comments it's pretty clear that few if any of the posters have any notion of what an Adv bike is or should be. Some one makes comment on Chinese junk and the dog pile is on. Anyone who has taken the time to do at least a wee bit of research on the RX3 comes away with interest and a "let's wait and see" attitude. I agree with Tony, the proof will be in the pudding. Based on what I've read here, the CSC blog, reviews and over on AdvRider this bike has promise. Zongshen and the entire Chinese motorcycle industry have a lot at stake on this bike. I for one look forward to testing this bike in the Americas.

Check out the CSC blog. If you need a zombie apocalypse bike, look no further.

I've been "defending" my decision to purchase the RX3 pretty much everywhere the bike has been talked about, but am to the point where I'm going to just wait until I receive the bike and then post up ride reports to show the naysayers that ignorance never prevails. It never ceases to amaze me how we, as a "unified community of motorcycle enthusiasts", can have so many snobs that are so quick to judge.

I had read the comments and made a comment here on the prior page about how those comments are spot on--7 to 10 years ago!

Even the ones that had issues, say 8 years ago, were having issues that are easy fixes nowadays. Chinese engines have proven their reliability, and it would take a quality control issue to say otherwise.

This site has helped me keep my two TMEC enduro 200 bikes on the road for over 13k miles of daily commuting at 33 miles round trip. No, that is not a record for the history books, but neither bike has simply blown an engine as the naysayers keep saying they will, or the bikes have not fallen apart into pieces as I have been warned time and time again they will

People have the right to their opinion, so I'm not going to try to change their minds. But Miss America is spot on… more ride reports will do far more than single-point rebuttals.

Look at how we all read intently the ride report from the person in China who rode to Turkey (with the rear wheel bearing problem since he didn't have the cush hub we'll have.) or the Zongshen factory riders who rode all over China? For most that's a world away, so "not applicable" in some people's minds. But once ride reports happen on US soil, I think the interest level will rise.
