Yeah, and it gets worse when you are in your seventies and eighties.

Back in the early to late 80's, as a Boy Scout, we had an annual snow hike (we also had an annual desert hike in late winter for the heat factor). One year, there was quite a lot of snow in the mountains above L.A. following a heavy snowstorm the week earlier. My boots got soaked, and I was miserable all night. Just to make things worse, they woke us up an hour earlier than expected because it was snowing. We had to get ready and get out of there as the snow was coming down quite heavier and heavier, and it looked like this photo. We were in a near blizzard situation, again, just outside of Los Angeles! with nothing but our feet and all our equipment strapped to our backs. At least getting out, it was downhill...

Those big handguards are no joke! it makes such a huge difference in keeping your hands warm when you don't have to combat the wind rushing at the back of your knuckles. Nothing seems to bring people together like the chance to help each other out. Almost gives me hope for the future.

Ahhh... Snow machines. I'm not really a cold weather guy, especially all bundled up at 6000', but I went out with a buddy a few years ago. He let me ride his Polaris RMK, all dolled up with breather, chamber, etc.... Typical 2 stroke. Not a lot on the bottom, then without warning, it rips your arms out of your shoulder. Had a blast.

Kind of but they are meant for bikes that have more power than my Hawk can provide even if their was kit for it. Just look up timber sled on YouTube.

Why can't I find those groups in the threads? I posted a question and I think somebody joined or it was an email update about my post. I guess my question is why is the thread so hidden? I can't find social groups anywhere on the main page.

Many of you have seen my posts of the two different Texas dealers that sent me emails. One sent me the order confirmed my order and the other got my Paypal payment because they are the same company. My Hawk was shipped by RPS. I think I made a Joke about the Manana Dr address on another thread but didn't post it here. Manny is everwhere.
It was about time to bump this thread anyway.

It's that time of the year so I stopped at one of the new self service kiosks to get new tags for the Hawk. I was to late to call the NDDOT about the void tags and the temporary registration. Maybe I'm getting a new plate and it didn't fit in the kiosk.
Putting a void tag on the plate would just be an invite to pulling me over when I'm going to work. https://www.dot.nd.gov/divisions/mv/...nformation.htm
