After visiting the fair, I crossed North Temple Street to dine at my favorite Chinese buffet.
![]() ![]() Riding farther north, I stopped in Brigham City to pose the Zong in front of a favorite landmark, the Box Elder Tabernacle. ![]() ![]() Riding north of Brigham City, I enjoyed the view of the Wasatch Mountains rising suddenly from the valley, without any intervening foothills. ![]() ![]() ![]() Continuing northward, I stopped several times to stretch, and enjoy the view. ![]() ![]() ![]() Approaching Deweyville, I was nearing the northern terminus of the Wasatch Front. I stopped again to enjoy the view before I rounded the mountain spur, and headed east. ![]() ![]() ![]() Deciding to ride northward through Cache Valley, I rode eastward a bit toward Logan. I was quickly rewarded with nice view of Logan, and the mountains east of town. ![]() ![]() Turning northward, toward Idaho, I stopped at a bend in the road to survey the view. I took some photographs sweeping the horizon from Logan, to the Cache Valley north of town. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The late afternoon sun was beginning to set behind the mountains as I crossed the border into Idaho. Just north of Clifton, I paused to enjoy the fall foliage spotting the Idaho mountains. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Riding north of Oxford, I arrived at Red Rock Pass. ![]() ![]() The Great Salt Lake is a mere remnant of the much larger, ancient Lake Bonneville. Approximately 14,500 years ago, Lake Bonneville overflowed Red Rock Pass, and began to empty northward, into the Snake River. ![]() Riding north of Red Rock Pass, I left the American Great Basin behind, and entered the drainage of the Snake River. ![]() Approaching Downey I entered familiar territory. As the sun continued to set, I happily rode the remaining miles home. ![]() Spud ![]()
