I went to the post office today before our ride.
This was there !

The quality of it is great. Mounts much nicer and cleaner to the bars then I expected

It holds great. And not once did I think it was going to fall out.
I might zip tie it in future. But today it did awesome.

And yes....that's my pink phone
I bought those cases like 4 at a time on eBay and this was my last one.
Knock off life proof. I don't use them for the waterproof ness. But to keep dust out. I work in a wood shop and there's a lot of fine sawdust. But also now. For dust on logging roads

Your phone is very pretty.

At least the cover should keep most of that Van Isle rain out of it. Do you have an accelerometer app? You have top speed, but it would also be fun to measure acceleration, etc.

In my opinion, function and price trump form every time.

The exhaust has arrived.
Looks as pictured. Not 100% best shape. I'll clean it up a bit tomarow. See how it comes out. But no major dents or dings. Overall pleased for 100 bucks to my door

The one clamp is just a regular pipe clamp. Not sure how they come.

I held it in position on the bike. Looks like a no mods required kinda swap.
I'll get before and after videos when I swap it on
Can't wait to get it on there

Dave

Looking forward to pics an vids.

The hose clamp that's on there will be fine, but you could switch to a T-bolt clamp of you like. Much stronger, stainless and it can fasten to a tab of you need another mounting point.

Is that mid-pipe stainless? If it is, mail it to me, and I'll polish it for you.

I think. Real heavy on the think part. It's just chromed or nickel plated. It's rusted in a couple spots so no not stainless lol

Plus I installed it. Post to follow

I went outside today to warm up my bike and get my "before video"
Well to say the least I got a little carried away

Here's the bike with stock exhaust removed
I really need to find the factory battery box cover :s

I needed a bracket to go from frame to the can. This was a scrap with 2 holes already in it that I cut to fit

The "bracket"

Here it is on the bike. Seems a little low but shouldn't be a problem

Photograph of it before

After

My only concern so far... Looking for opinions here. Is how close to the battery/battery box the mid pipe is

And now. The videos
I don't know what happened to the thumbnails. But the videos still work if you click them

Before

After

I'm very pleased with it. Looks good. Sounds good. I haven't ridden it yet but hopefully have an update on that soon

Install was a breeze too.

That's all for now
Thanks

Dave

The new pipe sounds great!

Can you bend tube at work? If so, perhaps you can make a new mid-pipe that resembles the original. It would be nice to get the muffler up where the original was, and the pipe will have good battery clearance, like the original design.

No. No tube bender at work. I ran it for quite a while like this.
I'll try it and see how it goes. If it is an issue I might try the exhaust wrap like humanbeing sugested.

I don't see it presenting an issue where it is right now. In the future I might make my own mid pipe

It works great lol
It's fairly loud. But not obnoxious.
Feels like I've gained some power. Mostly feel in the bottom end. Feels like I can pull the wheel much easier now.
I really like the sound it makes too.

I'm no expert on jetting. But I'll be checking the plug in the morning. I checked it before our ride but we'll see if I notice any changes.
I've read that with this setup I might not require rejecting. The bike warmed up much faster then normal this morning wich is nice. Since it used to take forever.

Stand by for updates

Dave

I've had the same experience occasioanlly. When my friend and I opened up the muffler on my daughter's first quad (a China 50), it was much easier to start, had more power and warmed up quickly. The original muffler was a joke.
