I've adjusted thr valves already, they were set quite tight. But yeah it's not hitting thr rev limiter. it's weird because this is a new issue, starting only this week. I rode a sustained 60 for about 45 minutes, everytime idgo right above 7k, it would start misfiring and i could feel it jerking, take it back to 7k ans it's okay. at first I thought it was jetting, but it is fine full throttle up until 7k

I'm running a 112.5 right now. i was running 115, but when running a long time , itd bog down real bad at full throttle. i had to stop like 4 times on the way to an off-road park after extended 55 mile runs. I haven't had the same bogging down issues on this past long rude.

it just doesn't want to go past 7k anymore, even in lower gears. it just starts misfiring almost like hitting rev limiter but more bouncy.

My co-worker said that the loose head gasket could be causing me to lose compression and cause thst misfire. He noticed it when it was super minor, and it's worse now.

What do you mean by loose head gasket? If the head gasket is leaking then there's your problem. Have you done a compression test?

Try a new spark plug. You guys are lucky with these iridium plugs. We always had to carry a spare plug and a spark plug wrench when we left home, even just to cut a few figure eights out in the back forty...ARH

I changed out my spark plug, im still having the same issue. Although, I think the spark plug maybe made it better, I reslly cant tell.

I'm able to get the engine to hit the rev limiter at 8500, however right at 6500, it starts to lose power slightly and by 7k it sounds almost like its hitting the rev limiter, but I'm pretty sure it's misfiring, like every couple times.

My head is leaking oil, so thisbqeekend I'm taking it off and while I'm at it gonna do some porting and decking , I bought a new head gasket from csc, and then retighten the head. I'm thinking it may be losing compression. I'll report back if it fixes the problem. if not then I'll replace my ignition coil i guess

It could be a weak spark. Check that the coil has a good ground. There is also a connector in the wire harness near the battery. Check the it is not corroded or have any of the pins pushed all the way in. My Hawk had died out on one of my off road trips. it ended up being that connector not being completely pushed together and locked in.

you think so? The thought crossed my mind. The only weird thing is it was fine like 2 weeks ago, with the same jetting. and before thst it was bogging down at full throttle so i went a step leaner .

You might be right though.

I know this is an old thread but thanks for this Jerry! I think I will follow your lead on the stick coil, I've put them on my old connie in the past and it really helped, especially with cold starts.
Also, I don't know how I missed it but I didn't know about the Chinariders Link Referral Program, I'll have to use that and help out a little. Again thanks!

I tested the cold start out Saturday morning. 43* brrrrrr, but fired right up. It was a chilly start out in the morning but warmed up to 62* by noon. It was a beautiful sunny day. Spent the day at one of the local fall festivals and car show.

Quick question about the Referral Program, when I put the amazon link you posted for the stick coil and plug it goes to my Amazon page and I have everything in my cart. Does Chinariders benefit more if I put each individual link into the box one at a time or can I put the link in the box and buy it all out of my cart?

That i'm not sure of. I would think you would have to do each one individually and add them to your cart.
