Hope you're feeling better today. I think I have another 20 years before I have to worry about the shingles.
There's always room for one more bike. Lol None of my bike are garage queens. They all get used as often as possible. Every add on I've done to my bikes have served a purpose. I'm not going to be adding stickers are chrome decorations to make it look pretty. Got to be functional add on. Saddle bags will be next. I'll need place for storage for my laptop and rain gear. I have a few in mind. Just need to verify some measurements.

Yeah, I'm thinking of saddle bags for the KPM. Just so I don't have to keep wearing my backpack all the time. I also haven't been able to ride since my track day a couple of weekends ago.

Be safe out there. These hurricanes just seem to have a grudge with the gulf this year.

Hurricane Zeta is knocking at my door. Heavy rains have started and winds are starting to blow. Good thing is its a fast mover and will be through here quick. Beautiful weather for tomorrow to next week
Time to ride the new bike after it passes.

Phew! Good to hear you won't be affected by, what is this, the 93rd hurricane to hit the Gulf?! I mean...shingles, hurricanes and soon to be mostly peaceful, voting violence, shouldn't be keeping a dedicated rider like you off your bike!!

Oh we got hit. Lucky it was the weak side of the storm. No real damage but what a mess with all the leaves and tree limbs. We lost power about 5pm yesterday and was still out this morning. We may be without power for a few day. I have a small generator that i converted to natural gas so i can run lights, frig, freezer and AC window unit and not have t worry about refueling. A cold front came through right after the storm so don't really need AC. The neighbor across the street wasn't so lucky. A large tree fell across his mobile home. Lucky he wasn't there at the time.

Good news, the shingles have ran it's course and my face is healing so I'm back at work today. Somebody will finally get to ride there new bike to work tomorrow.

We're getting the small version of it today. Fall colors are scattered all over the place. A few trees down. Looks like I'll be raking again this weekend.

Today is my first real ride on the bike. I took her to work this morning. Man am I glad I installed the windshield. It was a nice brisk 46* this morning at 6am. The windshield did a great job on blocking the wind. Now all I need is my winter gloves. They arrive today along with a 36 tooth rear sprocket. The bike has a nice feel to it. I was cruising along at 60 mph with plenty of throttle left. It was a little buzzy at that speed but I already knew the 45 tooth would be geared too low for my liking. I haven't touched the stock carb yet but idle mixture is definitely too lean. Lots of popping on decel. I'll take care of that tomorrow. I'm sure I'll need to change the main jet out too. I never had to twist the throttle past 1/2 throttle to get up to speed. I'm sure once it is broke in it will fall on its face at WOT. It's a given on all these Chinese bikes. lol Exhaust has a nice tone to it. Not loud and obnoxious. Bike has a good feel to it. Not as nibble as my X22R but handles way better than my Hawk at 60 mph. This weekend my plan is to tune the carb and change out the sprocket and put on some miles. I plan on keeping the engine stock until I get the engine broke in. So far I'm liking the bike.

I finally got to spend some time with the new bike over the weekend. I woke up early Saturday morning and did the sprocket swap. The same JTR269 sprocket that we all use on the Hawk also fit this bike. I ordered a 36 tooth to replace the 45 tooth than it came with. What's strange is another fellow YouTuber's Ghost came with a 42 tooth. He also just swapped out to the 36 tooth. It makes the bike feel like a completely different bike. No more high rpm vibration when just cruising around. I also confirm the speedometer is about 5 mph off. While I was working on the bike i did an oil change, adjusted the idle mixture and swapped out the 98 main jet to a 105. Cold starts are so much better. Before I changed the main jet i noticed my header pipe was getting cherry red on Friday when I took the bike to work. The new jet resolved that issue and also gave it a little more power on top end. I didn't do any top speed runs as i still have under 200 miles on her. I took her out for a short ride on Saturday morning and she performs so much better. We had a Halloween party so I didn't get much riding in. I made up for it on Sunday though. I took her out for a few hours and clocked just over 140 miles. The bike was very comfortable and didn't get saddle sore. Not quite as comfortable as the X22R for long rides but way better than my Hawk. The fastest I took the bike to was 67 mph according to my GPS. I never went full throttle so I'm confident that this bike will do 70+ mph no problem. I can tell the engine is already starting to loosen up from the first ride so it will only get better.

Small Update. So I've been taking the Ghost to work everyday. I've gotten plenty of compliments on the bike. Just about everyone at work agrees that the Ghost looks more like a bike a 62 year old man should be riding. What do they know. lol I love the shock factor when i take off my helmet on the X22R. lol I can tell the engine has been breaking in and gaining more power as it does. The first tank of gas i managed 68 mpg. Fuel gauge is pretty accurate.
I ordered a set of leather saddle bags and should be here on Monday. I picked them up for $65 on Ebay and normally sell for around $100. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Saddlemen-C....c100012.m1985
I also scored a real good deal on Ebay on a SpeedoDRD H1 for $45 which looks like it comes with the same connectors as the Ghost. If not I'll cut those off and make up my own with waterproof connectors. The SpeedoDRD normally sells for $70.
I found the trick is to watch items with one left and within a few days the seller will make you an offer.

Today was a rain day so I figured I would spend some time modding the Ghost. I pulled the exhaust off and removed the catalytic converter. This had to be the easiest one so far. I cut the pipe and the cat slipped right out. I weld it back together, repainted the whole exhaust system to give it a good protective covering. I was surprised with the stock exhaust gasket. I forgot to take a picture but looked to be made of stainless steel and was extra thick. Didn't even looked crushed. The exhaust sounds even better now. Real deep and throaty.

Next I removed the SAI system and made a block off plate from a price of aluminium I had laying around. Check out the air box and was surprised it wasn't restrictive at all. It has a nice washable foam filter that is easy to get to. We had a little break in the rain so took her out for a quick ride. Definitely a little more get up and go.

When I got back the mail man had dropped of my SpeedoDRD H1. Well It was almost plug and play. Same exact connectors as the Ghost. All I had to do was swap the signal in and out wires in the connectors. I just cut the terminals off and crimped them back on in the correct location. I got it dead on accurate the 1st try. The stock speedometer was 9% off.

I got another break in the rain so took the X22R out for a quick ride. Holy moly! I forgot how much more power that bike has with all the engine mods. I have a head already ported but think I'll just shave the head instead of installing a 11:1 piston. I also have a more aggressive cam and roller rockers I'm looking to get. Also going to get the 4 degree time key.

If the weather clears up tomorrow I'll shoot a riding video.

Nice! I need to look into the speedo corrector. Man, that thing was pretty cool stock. It's already faster than my bike... But I'm probably also considerably heavier than you. Lol. Makes me wish I was still working out of Houma. I'd have loved to have a head to head comparison with your bikes.

I lucked out and picked one up for $45 on eBay. It was nice having the correct connectors on it though the universal one comes with bullet connectors and just as easy to install.

Although the two bikes have the same engine they are night and day as far as power right now. But I'll fix that. Lol.
