That's what I figured. I bent the float arm level with the bottom of the mount. Now the empty fuel light flashes after I ride about 200 miles. I fill up with about 3.1 gallons of fuel, which leaves about 0.6 gallons in reserve to cover the fuel pump.

You can make life much easier if you simply trim some of the plastic off the right 'wing' of the instrument cluster...the place where the USB port mounts...

Spud: "I also generously trimmed the plastic from both accessory plug outlets"

I took the 12v and usb wings off and don't use them as well as some of the other foofoo plastic cover trim that gets in the way or hides fallen screws in front of tank. When I went to remove the usb side wing ,the screw was so tight that it spun the brass thread insert in the instrument cluster and I ended up castrating the wing off of the bike. Wasn't perdy. But does make getting to the wind screen nuts much more satisfying I will say, rj

I did get out in the garage today and really enjoyed getting to know this bike. Here's a couple pics of an easy install plus a video of a rambling Ernest T Bass ...

this is a good observation from a veteran rider. This is what my instructor warned us about describing the difference between efi systems vs carborated systems. Carb bikes have the .6 gal in the reserve so a little forgivness. When the efi systems runs dry, the instructor explained, your done.

I'll just track 200 miles and fill up then and shouldn't be a problem overheating the pump..I'm still gonna bend then arm though!

I put about 30 miles on the bike today in short rides. Kept it below 5500rpm and let it build up to 60 once for a few minutes.... I found the shifting to be fairly smooth however taking off from a dead stop in 1st I felt was sluggish, having to use higher rpm and a bit more clutch than I'm accustomed to... Is this normal? I have a new 13T sprocket for it that I intended to put on at 500 miles. Would putting it on now improved the low end take off or worsen it?

I would install the 13T now. It will be much easier to keep the RPMs under 5000 during break in, because you'll have usable torque at 3500 in first gear.

Yes, the RX3 is geared too high from the factory. The bike will be sluggish in first gear, until you install the 13T C/S sprocket.

Make sure you install the locking washer securely, or you risk losing the C/S sprocket nut.
