Mine RX3 stalled on me today as I coasted to a stop light in 3rd gear. When I tapped the starter button, the engine started immediately, and the bike didn't stall again for the rest of the ride. It has been weeks since the last time the engine stalled in this manner. I think it's normal for some bikes with EFI to exhibit this phenomenon. However, when I follow my usual practice, and downshift all the way to first gear as I decelerate, my engine never stalls.

You say the oil level is rising. Perhaps you have added too much engine oil, and this is contributing to the bike stalling at low rpms? If you have time, read the following thread regarding the RX3 lubrication system, and how to check the oil level.

still stalling

well ,ive kept pretty silent for awhile,,trying different stuff that csc has told me to try without success> MY rx3 is still stalling everyday,,an NO my valves are NOT tight,,,,,an it seems csc has given up ,,as they quit responding after i told them it wqs still doing it.I requested they send me a new ecm ,,just to try it ,,an i would send it back ,if it did not fix it,,,also was wondering if the clutch safety switch could have a defect causing this,,as the stalling always occurs when im coming to a stop ,pulling in the clutch...The other day it stalled in heavy traffic,,almost got me killed.I love the bike ,,but cant take it anymore. If i had a wish ,,i wish i coukld return it,for another ,,or just credit me an i will put it towards a 450 when they come out..I really want to be part of the program to show it to prospective buyers an help them prosper an sell more bikes,,But i cant have some one look at it and lie to them ,,,Im bummmed.

Your bike is still under warranty for parts and labor, Fish. You could have CSC send you the Motor Scan to diagnose the ECU, or you could take the bike to a shop. I'm sure the problem can be resolved.

I'm not saying you are wrong, but every time my bike stalls like this, I discover the valves are tight. I will be adjusting the valves again this morning. I need to adjust the valves about every 2,500 miles, just as Zongshen recommends.

Fish, if it was the clutch switch, I'm guessing it would be repeatable. In other words, you should be able to make the bike stall while sitting in neutral, and just pulling and releasing the clutch. If that won't make it stall, I don't suspect the clutch switch.

If you were riding an older China bike, I'd say the CDI is on the way out. Have you tried a new one?

I don't think the RX3 has a clutch safety switch. Also, I believe the EFI bikes don't have a CDI unit. I think only the bikes with carburetors have a CDI unit.

stalling

There are two wires on the clutch perch assembly,They seem to only affect the starting in gear with the clutch pulled in ,im just grasping at anything electrical. CSC must have seen the post,,as they called an are sending the scan tool for me to use an hopefully find the problem. Also they are sending a complete throttle body with sensors to try. This could be it as mine sometimes requires 2 or 3 attempts to get it fired as it stalls quickly at start up and it does not go into that fast idle that should occur at cold start up..So once again csc is standing by their product an help solve the issue,,So a big thanks to csc,,!!! also i will send the old parts back for testing.

You're right. I seem to remember removing the two wires when I worked on the clutch lever. I was fooled because I tried starting the bike with the clutch disengaged, and the bike started. However, I was in neutral at the time. My Honda CRF250X won't start in neutral if the clutch is disengaged.

I knew CSC would take care of you. The customer service and warranty coverage from CSC are absolutely superb.

My zong update

Csc sent me every sensor , and a Ecm Throttle body , oxygen sensor , coil. And plug wire , ,, so I installed everything an took the bike for 100 mile ride . Sad to say it still stalls to be honest it stalled 16 times that day. So I did a compression check ( with a brand new harbor freight tool). And bike has 40 lbs less than. Csc specs. So not sure what's wrong , Now. For the good news csc is going to pick my bike up an fix it or put new engine in. "Whatever it takes". According to Steve an Jerry , So this had got to be the best customer service ever ! And it's winter here so don't ride as much anyhow!

Thanks for posting the update, Fish. Indeed, I have never heard of better customer service from any motorcycle dealer, or manufacturer, for that matter. Kudos to CSC.

Glad CSC is taking care of it. That kind of customer service sells bikes!

I'm already looking at the TT for my next addition to the garage.
