Finally got that last piece of the quarter round from hell installed on the kitchen cabinets in the old place. What a pain in the butt. I hate doing trim to start with when it’s on the floor. On the ceiling throws a whole ‘nother dimension for me to screw it up. Sure made a lot of kindling.

I also was down in the crawl space replacing a ceramic light socket that my oldest bumped into and broke when her and Mrs. C got bugs up their asses to empty the crawl space over Christmas. Mrs. C never did go in to help get junk out.

Ya know, I can count on one hand how many times Mrs. C has been in that crawl space in the last 25 years. Because, dark and spiders.

Winding down on getting the old place ready to list, which we hope to do by the end of the week. Working on emptying out the garage, downstairs attic, and shed after having finished up inside.

The garage has been interesting. I open a cabinet, drawer, cardboard box, or reach up to a top shelf and I am invariably saying to myself, “When did I buy this?, Why did I buy this?, I’ve looked for this damn thing for months., Why the hell do I still have this?, to I thought I threw this away?”

Attic and shed will be a piece of cake after the garage.

I moved into my new place almost 1.5 years ago, and that's still happening to me.

I had a good, but silent, laugh at Mrs. C today. We still have plenty of furniture at the old place that she wanted to use for ‘Staging’. I wanted it out and at the new place, but as I was told, I just don’t get it.

So, first meeting with our realtor at the house today. She brought a professional ‘Stager’ along. Just a tad too much estrogen in there, so I stayed out of the way, packing up more crap in the garage.

Turns out, most of that furniture that Mrs.C set in place for staging, needs to come out and be at the new place anyway. Mrs. C was a bit taken aback, because, DIYHGTV told her to set it up that way. The Stager told her to quit watching that dreck as it was mostly scripted BS. (I’ve been telling her that for years ) The Stager told her that her mistake was that she staged the house for her, not for someone with school age kids.

She admitted defeat, but she’s still sputtering.

We’re done on the inside of the old place. Finally.

The realtor and her ‘Stager’ wanted me to change out a bathroom door to a sliding barn door. My reply was, “Not in your lifetime, sweetheart.”
She was also a bit condescending to me because I still have some touch ups to do on the siding and need to get the pop up out. I blew a gasket at that point and she seemed taken aback that I would get pissed with her attitude.
“Lady, I need at least 60F and no rain for an effin’ week to get this done. Unless you want to see tire ruts in the yard. And I need to be home. Before you suggest that I hire someone, we told you I just took a 20% pay cut. Are you willing to lend a hand? Are you willing to give up 20% of your commission? BTW, I don’t know of anybody who has asked to have the color changed on a used car, ain’t happening on a used house.”

That last bit was to cut her off before she suggested that. Finished up by telling her to deal directly with Mrs. C, not me, but that I had the final say on what she requested be done.

On a different note, I mowed the lawn for the first time at Cheesy Manor. That’s a two hour ride. A flat tire and getting hung up crossing one of my ditches didn’t help. And there is quite a regressive learning curve with that Troy-Bilt tractor compared to my Deere. Gear box instead of hydra-stat drive. Got a shift lever to change direction and two forward speeds. Control and pedal layout. Separate choke and throttle. Electric PTO switch. Nothing I can’t adapt to. On the other hand, being an older machine it doesn’t have many nanny state safety features. No button to push if I want to back up with the mower on. No seat interlock. It does have a cup holder. The tractor has seen minimal maintenance so has a few issues. Front alignment and wheel bearings are top priority at the moment. That and turn the damn wheels around. All the valve stems are towards the tractor.
There also a walk behind mower in my future. There are slopes I am just not comfortable being on the tractor. I’d prefer not being underneath it.

the joys of home selling. The market is going to get killed with this pandemic, so no sense putting any more money into it unless you absolutely have to.

It finally got listed today.
As I own it lock, stock, and barrel, I can afford to hold on to it for a while. About the only extra money being spent is for a couple gallons of paint.

Are they allowed to show houses or is it virtual? Buddy is a realtor here and he said they can't do anything in person.
