She has been out there with me all day. She figured out how that mess behind the headlight had to go. She's definitely the wife I don't deserve lol. She's been putting up with me for 16 years.
Where cold I possible pick up a spoke wrench locally? I forgot to order one. |

I don't know. If those rubber do hockey's are in the correct place, it would indicate some kind of plastic support...correct?
Is everything completed and in place? Oops guess I should read thru before I blab

It's been 5 hours since your last post, Letsride! Something must be up, nobody wastes time sleeping when they have a new motorcycle to put together! Seriously, that's great news on the carb and the spark plug. I guess that as these China Bikes start getting more mainstream, they have a little more purchasing power with the big names in the supply business. I have t decide if I want to go over to one of the rental properties today to hang doors and paint, or if I want to tear the carb out of the Rebel and figure out why it isn't starting right, and has a huge dead spot until it gets good and warm... Decisions, decisions...

You're right, I was weak. Actually, I went over to the property and started working but things went pear-shaped really quick. I swear, it feels like I take two steps forward with that place, then fall down a flight of stairs... I think I'm just going to hire all the work out and be done. I've turned all the properties over to a management company, and this is the last one that needed work before they took it over. In any event, here's the update on the Rebel issue:
1) The carb comes out of the RIGHT side of the bike, not the left... 2) Here in West Georgia, we're at about 1,100' AGL. A small displacement engine of, oh, I don't know, 250cc or so DOES NOT NEED A 135 JET!! (The motorcycle just came back from Spokane, WA. How it ran at all with a 135 jet is beyond me.) 3) The gas drained out of the carb should not look like the urine of a dehydrated and slightly obese Llama... Undoubtedly this is still a result of the fact that the bike sat in a garage for nearly 10 years before it came into my world. 4) I went with a 115 jet, since my 110 jet is in the Hawk. With the Rebel being a two cylinder bike, it should be fine. I left the 35 pilot jet in. 5) The gaskets for the bowl and needle diaphragm are all expanded and soft. Looks like I'm going to have to order a new set. Not the end of the world, but it means I won't be able to test everything out until I get the parts ordered and get back from Tampa, FL on the 21st or so.

Hope you didn't really fall. It does sound like your exhausted. Could be time off for hollidaytime.
I watched a buddy tumbledown a railroad embankment in front of me on a fire call and it made me cringe, fortunately no damage

LOL thats true Hertz Saturday I was staring at them and But hey I work on 320 Million dollar Aircraft and they too have extra parts. But Sorry Guys, I didn't get to mess with her yesterday. The wife had family pictures on the brain But I am downing this here cup of coffee and I'm going out there to get to work. I still have to adjust valves, grease rear shock bolt, rear axle bolt, swing arm bolt, adjust chain, change oil, add acid to battery, and a once over. At some point today I have to go to Cycle gear and get a spoke wrench. And I'm going to batteries plus to get me an AGM Battery. I despise these acid batteries. Ok more to follow I promise.
