I'm starting to realize that making the payments on a jap bike actually is cheaper than the repairs to the lifan. Unfortunatly the available mods will drain wallet pretty quick. I'm sure Sam would agree with the amount of performance parts he has added to the KLR.

Hey Zap I was wondering if maybe your problem is Clutch related seeing as that It now vibrates all the time. It maybe an easy investigation.

the dude that delivered the bike told me it was definately not a tranny or engine issue. i am assuming they had it apart but who knows. my buddy is sort of mechanically inclined and works on his harley and other stuff so he and I are going to take a peek inside.

I dont care about the warranty anymore.

After basically being treated like a moron (which I am defiantely not) by the AL website I'll not be there anymore.

when my friend and I find the problem i will order parts necessary through bruce.

or if it is in fact something else, like a weld or an engine bolt I will come onto this website and declare matter of fact that it was not the tranny.

thing is...if it turns out to be a weld or something like a sheared motor bolt, should'nt they have been able to figure that out during the week and a half they had my bike. they just wanted to pacify me..thats all.

if I ever do buy another lifan it will be through bruce and I'll rent a uhaul to pick it up as i would rather deal with someone who cares.

i know i got really jacked during this whole thing but what REALLY annoyed me is that me and my youngest had a lot of fun on the bike cruising around. Once the vibration started and I could find no obvious reason I was afraid to put her on the back anymore.

i know you guys have seen me run the whole gamut of emotions from trying to give everyone the benefit of the doubt to getting drunk and posting crazy crap..but the one thing that was constant was your desire to help me find the solution to this problem.

I do mean it too, if this is something as simple as a sheered bolt or a weld, I will make sure to post about it. and I sure hope it is something like that. this morning i felt guilty about the angry posts i made while shipfaced.

I am willing to eat as much crow on this site as necessary if I turn out to have been totally wrong and smeared the bike unjustly, but I wont apologize to AL or my local dealer as I feel they are not on the up and up with me and really don't care.

i dont think ill be able to get by friend to work on the bike today but next week we will tear into it and find the problem if it is within our abilities to do so.

im not going to trash the product anymore. i am going to be a nice guy again and just let it slide..worst case scenario I learned a lesson..best case..my bike is fixed and the universe is in balance again.

Still seems to me as a clutch basket groove, clutch plate warp than anything else...Changing a sprocket for vibes????Nuts. :roll:

YEAh I thought the sprockets were a bit off as far as the problem but they could point to a problem.

I still think it is either a loose engine or an internal engine problem.

And I'd lean to a loose engine since that would show up pretty soon as it did on ours as compared to an internal engine problem on a counter balanced engine.
Plus he said the oil looked good on the last oil change, no particles in it.

Have they had any problems with the counter balanced engines, it seems like I read or heard somewhere that they had some problems at first with those.

If it's not the clutch, I'd bet on the counterbalancer. You could always remove it. Check with Bruce to see what a new clutch costs. That's a worst case scenario.

did you ever try and hold the rear brake, and give it gas at the same time? it puts the engine under load at a slow speed, anything loose will rattle or vibrate more than before. if it was the whole engine moving you would definitly notice it, and if its something internal, it would be easier to pinpoint. just a thought.

its a good way to test out a used car before you buy it as well. works better with a manual trans though.

You didn't listen to me last time. You really should this time. Take a day and get the bike to Bruce. He'll take care of you! If you need help or someone to go with you, let me know. I have a trailer, tie-downs, etc...!

I'm on vacation this week but the middle of next week is clear for me.

I was lurking on the A.L. site....and likely won't be back.

They admins. are dealers and know absolutley everything and the customers know nothing. (seems to me) . Treat members like children who don't know azz from hole in ground. They seem to diss honest/knowledgable people like bruce, and treat customers as disposable once they are paid in full.

Hiding/neglecting problems with the bike is no way to build customer base.
I would feel better about the dealerships if the actually came up with some tech/answers...instead of deleting posts...
Shows me how much they proffess to know about the industry and how to make it better(?)

Tis easier to dodge the question than to show just how little they know.

I just knew there was a reason I stayed away from A.L.'s site , well it actually has more to do with the fact that I dont own A.L. products so I see zero use for me to be there.

They dis on bruce, hmm......maybe because he has a different business philosphy, you know, take care of the customers and stuff like that.

Thats a hell of an offer, That's what sets You apart from a lot of other dealers.

Bruce even takes care of other china bike owners if he can get like parts. I know since he's gotten all the spokes I've needed for my Roketa. My other option was to buy an entire rear wheel from Roketa.
