Are there any videos of how to do a bottom Tear down? Found out the original motor was shot when I got it. Once the year downs completed I’ll post what the underlying issue was .. just made it worse after I bought it. Swapping
New motor in and redoing all the adjustments again n retrying to start up.

Get a Honda single’s shop manual ,you can probably find a free download ,or you can just pick up the clymer one for a few bucks .

So I’ve looked up a couple of different websites about the Honda CRF bass series teardown is this pretty much what I’m looking for? I’m curious where is the filter screen for the oil at ?

After the top end is torn down, I’m
Basically wanting to know if I should drain all oil and then just pop
Off all the screws on the case at one time and then disassemble?

There is a centrifugal filter in the clutch of the Honda’s ,drain the oil out of it before you start taking it apart or you will be one dirty guy ,remove the drain plug sit the engine over a pail and leave it as long as you can .Yes you take the side covers off and keep going from there .Should take about half an hour .Use a hammer style impact driver and the proper JIS bit or you will be ruining your day with stripped screws .

“Japanese Industrial Standard “ ,it looks like a Philips screwdriver but is different ,and if you use Phillips bits on the screws you will probably ruin them .Is your google broken ?all the answers to the universe are in there somewhere ,even the caramilk secret !

I would just like to caution you to take the time and price everything out before spending any money on it ,for my money purchasing a brand new complete engine with a warranty for anywhere near the same price to rebuild the old one is the best way by far to go .Things like not replacing bearings in the tranny ,gears ,shafts ,crank ,are ways doing a home rebuild might come back to bite you ,they might look good today but they can all shit the bed on you in a hurry .Doing a proper rebuild and replacing all the wear parts is probably more than buying brand new .I used to deal with dozens of young people racing pit bikes ,at first we rebuilt the engines ,or just fixed them up ,then we just stopped that and replaced them complete with new .Those are the same engine as in your bike .We found the China horizontal clone engines were generally made on the cheap side ,and were just not meant to be repaired when worn out .We have had fantastic service out of the piranha 140cc engines which is very reasonably priced .

I do appreciate everyone’s help so I will be taking the oil and guts out the top end to post pictures of the cylinder, head/piston.
Once those have been replaced, I would want to tear into clutch side of bike ?

As stated earlier both engines might need a rebuild? if all wiring is right and both don’t start with basic ways then shouldn’t I tear into them both same time bag all parts and find out what’s worn?
the original engine hasn’t been able to start.
The second one should. I could have just gone too fast on both engines...:(

I would check the valves on both before tearing into them.

i am gonna say the chances of having 2 bad engines is very slim... i would double and triple check all the wiring on the bike....
