Take it easy on that back bud. Your doing the right thing, slow and methodical with final prep. Enjoy!

Folks ... feel free to take a look see at these pics ... some of them were from phone and blurry - sorry .... https://goo.gl/photos/6J5TJc7qQsNBmUYBA

Distance from Chongqing China to Azusa, CA is approx 7161 miles. Distance from Azusa, CA to Lerna Il 1932 miles .... grand total 9093 miles. . . and the only thing/damage I've found thus far is the paint on the right side pannier guard/rack rubbed in shipping taking the paint off. . . Pretty damned good as far as Im concerned. I would like to get some touch up paint and address it.

My other observation was the quality of the crate. The cardboard naturally took most of the abuse but the pallet, wheel stops, foam padding and strap downs were A1 in performance and overall quality.

Naturally I've some things to install on the bike, center stand, electronics, wind screen, bar risers, mirrors and trunk in addition to spending a good relaxing day going over every nut and bolt possible and to start planning my attack on the fuel tank and wheel bearings. I'm going to hold off installing the hand guards until after the replacement bar arrive.

I do have a question for those who've already been down this path ... Should I install the electronic ports prior to or after the windscreen?

I'll do a full review of the bike as I see it when I'm done getting things attached and it's ready to run down the road some.

Thanx to one and all for answering my questions and offering support and tips over the past several months. ..... I'm ready for all this to start coming together and the next phase of this adventure to begin!

Thanks for posting the photos. You bike looks great, and it arrived in excellent condition.

What are you going to do to the fuel tank?

Definitely install the power ports before you install the windshield.

dpl,
one suggestion to make your life a bit easier: when you install the windscreen you will find that the lower right bolt/nut is a really tight fit on the nut side. You will see what I mean when you simply place the windscreen on its mounting holes. You can make life much easier if you simply trim some of the plastic off the right 'wing' of the instrument cluster...the place where the USB port mounts. Here's a photo of what I did:
marked but not cut
and cut. This surgery will not be seen when you re-attach the wing but it will give you room for your fingers to hold the nut in place.
