I bought the mirror perches on eBay for $6, delivered! They don't have a name; they were described as shown below. Universal Motorcycle Handle Bar Mirror Mount Holder Clamp Adapter 7/8 Black 10MM Handlebar real estate is in short supply with the 1-1/8" handlebars. :? Therefore, I was beginning to despair, when I discovered the Moose Racing Billet Mirror Perch. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/2/9/192/44676/ITEM/Moose-Racing-Mirror-Mount-Clutch-Perches.aspx?SiteID=SLI|Mirror%20Mount&WT.MC_ID=10 010 Apparently, most clutch/brake perches have mounting bolts spaced either 30mm or 30.8mm apart. Therefore, the Moose Racing mirror perch will fit most perches; however, it costs $20 per adapter! 8O I looked around, and found the BikeMaster T2 alternative, for $5 apiece. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...-Adapters.aspx Then the though occurred to me; perhaps I should try the back halves of the mirror perches I had already purchased for $6/pair. They fit perfectly! I am very happy with my $6 purchase of these mirror perches! :P The inexpensive, eBay mirror perches are very strong, and I think they look great! Spud

Incidentally, Flatland Racing makes an odometer replacement spacer for the CRF250X.
http://www.crfsonly.com/catalog/prod...roducts_id/855 This spacer is only available in silver, and costs $28.45, plus shipping. I was able to find a CRF250R axle on eBay, complete with spacers, for $24.90, plus shipping. I think the CRF250R axle looks better than the Flatland Racing spacer. Also, I still have the original, CRF250X axle and spacers which I can sell, or use for replacements if I should need them. In addition, I am pleased to stick with Honda OEM parts, instead of substituting a unique, aftermarket part. Spud

I noticed on the bikemaster perches that they have an arrow with the label "up". You think that is necessary.

That's terrific, Spud. It will allow us to use non-DS perches on our bikes and still have a solid mirror mount. Thanks for the clarification.

P.S. Being a China Rider, I don't want to spend $40 for mirror perches, when I can spend $6, instead. Spud

You are off to an awesome start on the mods Spud!
I like those mirror mounts. That would have saved some precious bar space on my YZF. I didn't know they existed like that.

That's the same multi function switch I have on my YZF. Same brake light switch too. They work well.
The mirrors make it look very 'Factory' D/S, I like them! The whole bike looks great. How are you enjoying it's performance?

I think Al Gore has finally come through for us northern mountain people Spud. Assuming the worst is past us, we did not have winter here this year (by local standards). It looks like your area got off easy as well! 8)
You know life is good for a dual sport rider when the snow machine people are bitching about the weather.

Two things are dear to my heart. I love to hear New York Yankee fans crying, and snow machine riders lamenting the lack of snowfall. Spud

Great pics and very informative post. You do a great research. When installing Tusk Compact Control Switch, I presume you had to solder the wires to get it connected and working?

The Tusk switch is very easy to wire. Here's a video showing how you connect the headlight. The rest of the wiring is also easy. I used "bullet" crimp connectors to wire the headlight, so the installation was very easy to perform. I am going to power the bike's horn directly from the battery with a dedicated wire and inline fuse. I am also wiring a relay to the horn button to control power to the horn. Spud
