Wasn't just eyein them, as I already started saving up for one

While I was bored today I decided to take apart and check on the sizes of Jets in the VM26... it came with the standard 100 main and 20 slow... still waiting on the Main and Slow jets I ordered from China, I'm thinking a 105 main and 22.5 slow will be a good starting point for tuning, doubt I will need much more of a slow jet as the Pilot Screw is already at '1.5 turn out' (about the perfect size, anything over 2 turns needs a bigger jet).

I weighed the stock exhaust and found out it's too darn heavy! Stock header is just shy of 6lbs , the muffler was almost 10lbs ... talk about excess weight on the bike...

if all goes well I will have it down to, 1.2lbs for a FMF PowerBomb Header and a massive 2.6lbs for the muffler ... that's just over 12lbs of fat I plan on removing from this bike, just by changing the restrictive exhaust

That other thread got me thinking azh, seem like you could also save a lot of weight with one of those lithium batteries over a lead acid battery.

Just placed an order for a performance exhaust header and a Honda Copper/Crush Exhaust Gasket, will let everyone know how everything works out in a few weeks time when it all shows up

A pic to see how restrictive the stock exhaust is, a US quarter wont fit and there is a nickle missing from the pic, it barely had enough room and slid down into the exhaust just before I snapped the pic , extremely restrictive is being nice ... I know some engines like to have some 'back-pressure/restrictions' to run properly but this is ridiculous

Do you know the new inner diameter of the headder? If yes, what's it's relation to that quarter (new headpipe).

There's a thread here from way back that addresses this. It has to do with taking a die grinder and carving on that weld to open it up. Lots of folks did it back in the early modding days in search of more power. Always a good thing to do, but replacement is even better if one has the shillings!

I thought of doing that 2LZ , maybe if the Header Weld on the inside was the only problem and restriction with the Header (like on Suzuki DRZ400) but it's not

Yah...they aren't great, by any means and some were just awful. Fortunately, when I did my X-Moto, it went from one really horrid, fat, ugly weld, straight to 1.25" pipe at the bend so it worked out. One never knows what surprises the Chinese will give us! ;-)
I have the TT250 coming and I'm really looking forward to what header pipe some folks here are trying. I want to dump the cat before anything else.

On a related note.. I was looking at the tt250 parts on the csc site... and the cat is sold as an individual part... it almost looks as if it may be removable? see here http://www.cscmotorcycles.com/TT250-...p/zt17-118.htm

Ahhh man! I wonder if part #4 "Muffler is the front" would fit on my motorcycle... it's only going to cost $18+ shipping... as I just spent way more than that for the performance header

I might order one (when the show up in May) just to try it out, it will give people a less expensive option to upgrade their Header pipe and drop all those 'Eggs, Baffles, and horrible welds' on some of these Bashan's

A few measurements I collected on the stock exhaust:

Nickle used (missing from previous pic): 21.28mm
Quarter used (shown in previous pic): 24.19mm

'Spring/Coil/Soda Can' Exhaust Gasket... : 23.59mm

Header Weight: ~5.98lbs (5lbs 15.7 ounces)
OD of Header (Engine Side): 39.11 - 39.24mm
ID of Header (Engine side): 21.35mm (worst welded spots) - 23.58mm (largest opening of welded spots)

ID of Header (Muffler side): 26.51mm all around (was wondering about that exhaust leak!)

Muffler Weight: ~12.43lbs (12lbs 6.9 ounces)
ID of Muffler (Header side): 27.11mm (was wondering about that exhaust leak!)
ID of Muffler (Exhaust Tip): 19.78mm

So you can see how futsed up the stock exhaust is on (this) Bashan moto

New parts are in need a little bit of modification for everything to work just right with the frame and whatnot, but it's going to be oh so sweet (and light) when it's done anyone in my area have a 'proper' pipe bender so I can get a few bends just right... or else I'm going to cut this sum b* up a bit and find a way to do it myself

New Honda OE Exhaust Gasket:
ID: 31.5mm
OD: 39.8mm

New Exhaust Header:
Weight: under 1.25lbs
ID at the Engine/Exhaust: 28.76 - 28.80mm
ID past the weld: ~31mm+ all round
OD at the Engine/Exhaust: 38.02mm
ID at the Muffler Side: ~31.56mm all round
OD at the Muffler Side: ~34.49mm all round

FMF Turbinecore Universal Muffler:
Weight: ~2.9lbs
'Universal Mid Pipe' ID: 29.29mm all round on one side
'Universal Mid Pipe' ID: 31.45mm all round the other side

Now I just have to make it all work

Considering what you stripped out of your kawasaki 650 I would expect nothing less from you on this WILL bike .. kinda like the Oprah diets for duelsports.
