We expect the same amount of drama as in your job-related posts, even if you have to make stuff up.

Example: "Just as I was about to begin, my front door was kicked in by an assault team. The resulting firefight created a slight delay in my upgrades....."

I expect it to be more along the lines of, "Crap, where'd that screw go?", or "I just had that damn screwdriver."

Since I put my foot down about not going to Mexico if the MM is involved, things have calmed down quite a bit.

I'm still waiting for graphics card to come down from their obscene prices before I make a system upgrade.
But my Ducky mechanical brown switch keyboard decided to play up yesterday after many years of use. I don't think its the switches but something else on the fritz.

Using my old backup keyboard for now...

So I've ordered a new keyboard (royal kludge rk96) and mouse while I was at it.

It has switch hotswapping, so I could in theory swap over the cherry MXbrown switches from the dead Ducky into the RK96....

In terms of my own upgrades...its been more reorganization of existing equipment and fully building out an editing station for photography

I got the drive changed without too much drama. And I did have one screw left over. In my defense, it dropped onto the carpet and I didn't know it escaped.

After letting the SSD and my laptop become friends, it has become obvious that I am also in dire need of a ram upgrade. The new drives' software called me names because of it. So, another 4GB ram card on the way to nestle in the empty slot. Then I'll put the left over screw back in.

Other than the ram issue, things went well. The boot is a bit better but opening documents is a lot faster now.

So it took me less time to add the extra 4GB RAM card than it took to open up the laptop. Much better now. I was kind of hoping for a Hemi on Nitrous but I'll settle for a SBC with 3 deuces on pump gas.
