Jeff just quoted me $1750 yesterday, I found their website a little confusing so I just called Jeff. The TBR7 is a great bike. Especially if you plan on riding on road more than the dirt (because of the 50/50 tires) but with the savings you can afford all the upgrades that most people do. Although you do not get the counter balanced motor and inverted forks.

I could never understand why the kind of tires are so important when purchasing a bike. It's the size of the wheels that are important. You can always swap out tires, swapping out wheels is another story.

Did you call him on the phone? From what I've read here that's the best way to get the correct price. I guess their website is screwy.

As I have stated before, I don't get why they have 2 prices. If a new china bike searcher finds their regular site, they will just go right on by. I like the bike and I like their videos and Jeff seems really nice. Whoever does their website is and idiot.

The price posted is MSRP from a dealer assembled ready to ride with a warranty. Some of ya'll done pissed a few of my dealers off by walking into to shops saying you should get it for $1750 because thats what its sold for online.

Having experienced techs set up your stuff is worth $$ as well as having a place to take it to for service/repairs. I very rarely get calls from dealers for Brozz anything but much more frequently from guys whose first bike is one they have to partially assemble and prep... They are good bikes as is and guys who can turn a wrench will still get a discounted price online in the future.

However, the price is going up for 2020...one due to tariffs but two due to closing the gap between dealer and online prices so I don't have any more dealers calling me like that again. I can't build a brand without a dealer network. And these Bashans will only get better the more feedback I get from owners/dealers/myself riding them.
They advertise higher to not piss off their dealers. Their dealers just need to deal with the fact two step distribution is evolving.

Well said Duck9191. Back in the 80's one of the local Honda dealers would sell dirt bikes and 3 wheeler to the guy's that raced in the crate for a huge savings but voided all warranties. Besides the warranty was voided anyway because it was used for racing.
Just look at how much time you have to put into these bikes when you assemble and prep them yourself. I don't think that labor is free.

That is why they have two websites. One is the brick and mortar store like the name brand stores that sell you a complete bike all tagged, registered and ready to ride. The other is selling you one in a crate that you have to assemble and prep.

Yeah labor isn't cheap, so even if its only 2-3hrs a bike it adds up. Plus the dealer is going to price it based on their labor rates to make a profit because they are a business. They also have to deal with all the small annoying china bike issues while assembling and missing parts. It is a value added service to the right customers, and their dealers need to use that to their advantage and SELL it. Sure you can buy it online cheaper but you assemble it, you chase the missing/broken parts, you have to inspect it and register it on your own.

this... as a small engine mechanic, our labor price is $85/hr...so for a 3-4hr PDI, you're looking at $250-330 just for the labor, and usually anything that would would end up being plated, labor rates are higher than just simple lawn mowers...LOL

then add the time to r-crate it as a fully assembled machine, and add the cost of all the fluids that get changed, it adds up fast.

True story, when I worked for SKY Powersports in Lake Wales Florida the owners teenage son was into racing. So they'd have me uncrate a KX and pull all the parts that they were gonna upgrade. At the end of the season I'd have to put all the stock parts back on and remove whatever stickers the boy put on it, and then it would be sold as a demo model.

Also the crate would have to be reassembled and buried in the warehouse incase the bank decided to take inventory, which they did about every 3 months. I felt sorry for the folks that would buy the "demo" model, that thing was guaranteed to be completely ragged out.

I can't figure out how to order this bike online. It just says to call but orders can't be placed over the phone either?
