well, they claim i will be getting a call today, letting me know what time it will be here today ... guess we will see ... think i have everything but a new spark plug, dont know what one i need yet, or i would have that too ... got my learners permit yesterday, no one around here to ride with though ... also talked to the guy at the dmv about getting a title on a chinese bike, he told me they have done them here in my town already, and it will be no problem at all ... so that is a load off anyway, and they told me where i bought it from the mco says "motorcycle", so that is sweet ... i dont look to have any trouble with it

well, now it is an hour from my house, and they say 2 more days, so i am working on getting it released from the original shipping co so i can go pick it up before i have to work ... never use roadrunner transport

if i ever get it here, i will start a new build thread ... plan is to strip it to motor and frame, then rebuild from there

short update ... got it home tonight ... found out it is a much bigger bike than i thought, so very happy about that ... it dont look like i am going to get to strip it the way i had hoped, as it was all i could do to uncrate it by myself (that swing arm bolt was a pain) so i just stuck some stuff on her to get her inside for the night ... going to try to get a short nap in before work, so if i can get the camera charged i will get some more pics when i take her back apart to do the real build for riding ... as for now, she is sleeping next to the couch for the night ... wife is sure to love that when she gets back

took her for a short ride today, still needs a few tweaks, but rode just fine ... still cant get over how big it is ... going on only 2 hours sleep in the last 2 days, so the small build pics and comments on what i liked and didnt will have to wait

I'm glad you finally have the bike, and have it assembled.

After you catch up on on your sleep, can you confirm the advertised seat height and wheel sizes:

...seat height is listed s 28.7" ?

...19"/17" front/rear wheels?

...are the wheels/rims steel or aluminum?

Thanks.

I have a friend that is interested in a China bike with a low seat height.

If he decides to get one, more than likely, I will be the one putting it together.

1... seat high is way off on listing, it is about 33", at 5'9" i can just touch the tips of both feet at the same time

2... wheel size is correct, 19" front 17" rear

3... rims are chromed steel

Thanks for the confirmation, Barlow. I was suspicious of the published seat height. My friend, a few inches shorter than you and I, may need to look elsewhere.

yes, i would maybe look for a 200cc ... my buddy has one, and it is much smaller ... if i were any shorter, i could not touch both feet, and i did not see any way to lower the rear shock any, but i dont mind the height as i have ridden for over 30 years, and it is a light bike

Does the rear suspension have linkage, or is the rear shock bolted directly to the swing arm?

Thanks once more...

jb

I'm 5'6" and I had to fit a shorter rear shock. Nothing fitted so I got creative with a grinder. It's fine now. It's a direct bolt on. (as was the original)
The rear sprocket is Honda 125XL (82) And the number is JTR269
My original was a 50 but that was too high reving as I do a lot of road too. I put a 45T on and it's kinda too much. I just ordered a 47 I think that might be the sweet spot.
60 - 63 2 up right now ~70mph (GPS) whatever sprocket I use solo but the revs make it feel much better with the 45T
My front wheel speedo mech was a real pain. I have dismantled it a few times. Not sure how it happens but it tended to come out of the grooves. If yours isnt a problem.. don't worry and if it is. You will see what I mean.
