Hmmm, carb with an accelerator jet, any suggestions where I could find one that would work on my rig?

Still no pictures, I would have had some but one of my kids ran off with my batteries. 8O

Got a new tire put on the front and the new FMF spark arrestor. I didn't have any problem getting it to fit, had to put some slight upward pressure on it to line up the rear bolt hole but not a big deal. It sounds awesome too. I haven't got around to getting the Vapor digital speedo/tach installed, that will be a little bit of work but not impossible. There will definatley be plenty of room for the new headlight with that big old bulky speedo assy out of the way.

I had a DOH moment during the tire change. I had the bike propped up on a jackstand and should have not done such a half-arsed job of it. While getting the new tire lined up and so on I got a little raunchy with it and CRASH the bike fell over. No serious damage, broke the tip off the front brake lever and broke the rear signal light, which I had planned on changing anyway.

It's really coming together and looking more and more like I'd been hoping.

If you really want to break new grounds in carbs you could try and fit a crf150r carb to the bike, they have accelerator jets, however you would need to modify the intake to some thing shorter to clear the frame and adaptable to the carbs that don't bolt on.

Ok here would be my approach: the carb is a 32mm so it would be 4 mm over size which is substantial but doable. I would cut the stock bolt on intake at a point where the carb can mount and clear the frame, then find some stiff tubing and use hose clamps to clamp the tube to the intake trackt and one to clamp it to the carb holding it against the intake. You will need to switch to an pod filter such as the ones made by UNI that will fit on the carb.

heres the cheapest one i could find on ebay. you may be able to find a better price if you look around a bit more. If you need any help with being able to tell if a certain carb has an accelerator jet, most are easy to see just by looking at a picture from the bottom of the carb

Oooh, flatslide!

I would take that an extra step and find some thin tubing that has the same ID as the carb exit, or slightly larger. That would allow you to slide the tubing inside the intake tube (not much, and it would require some grinding), which would avoid a step when the air / fuel mixture reaches the intake tube. A thin tube inserted inside would create a smooth transition.

I'm shocked that the CRF150 uses a 32mm flatslide! 8O

yep also a good idea

it is amazing how much air they can cram into a 150 cc engine at 14,500 rpm 8O

Well, it turned out to be a sucky/windy/rainy day to try and do some work, although I did find a few of the things that were the problems.
1st find: Must have pinched the tube when I put the new front tire on, it's flat now.
2nd find: The choke cable was loose so the choke was nearly wide open all the time, that would go to explain a bit of my bogging problem.
3rd find: The clutch plates definatley looked worn but couldn't get them off due to lack of the right tool for removing the "flywheel" as it were. Oh it also had mud packed inside of it.
4th find: The air filter I don't think would even let water through, let alone clean air.
5th find: It's freaking hard to find the right tools in a messy garage.

Stand by for some pictures...

I'm not familiar with the carb setup on your bike but how about a PZ30 carb with an accelerator pump? It's the carb on the 167FMM on my DF250RTB bobber.

K, they are a bit large but they will bring us up to the current timeline and show some of the new stuff.
This is the second attempt, I think I blew up Time Warners bandwidth buy uploading pictures and streaming HD video trying to catch up on missed southpark episodes at the same time.

New Piston, if you look close you can see my fingerprints.

New Head

New head waiting for the "next layer"(pay no attention to the blue gunk in there....)

Couldn't resist showing the perfect drink holder!

Dropping the rods in.

The lid is on.

New Battery (ya, exciting)

New Starter

New CDI, perfect spot for it there too.

New clutch kit.

New rear shock.

Digging into the clutch.

Nearly rounded off a bolt! There's always one huh?

The right tool for the job.

The flywheel with the poo in it.

And this is where it ended because of the lack of the four point extroverted socket I need for the bolt in there.

New front tire.

New exhaust and the broken rear signal light hanging.

If you reduce your photos by 50%, this thread will be much easier to read.

Sorry, I forget about monitor size sometimes. If you'll all bear with me I'll get to fixing it tomorrow. (Sunday) If I try anything else more than breathing on this cursed day, the world might blow up!
