If the exhaust is leaking at the head:
$10 bucks for a set of 4 exhaust gaskets from Amazon:

It leaks because one of the studs broke.

I already installed a new battery got an 8 amp 120CCA and it’s still having the same issue other than the exhaust leak I don’t know what else it could be I’m a mechanic at Nissan and I asked around and all the other techs also suggested the battery they are all just as baffled as me…

Also it is doing it in other gears I don’t know if I just never noticed it but it isn’t just in 5th anymore it’s 3rd-5th any of those gears if I give WOT and let off when I try to give it throttle again without letting rpms die down then it starts choking bad it feels like a misfire or fuel issue but it’s a brand new battery brand new plug and brand new coil so and there are no fuel blockages no air blockages and the gas is good…

F11...

After you extract the broken stud and replace it, you can have on hand a new crush gasket to seal it up right. As I mentioned in previous post, they are same dimension as those Honda CB550 gaskets. I've used them on a 167FMM 223-229cc Zongshen. They fit!

Have you shimmed the needle?

How would you go about shimming the needle? Also does anyone know a decent aftermarket cdi and have a link to it? I can’t find one anywhere. I want to see if a new cdi will fix my problem

The process is posted in the Templar X resource guide. I have not seen a step by step on needle shim for the Hawk on this website, but the process is basically the same.

Read the 5th post. You need to have more fuel flowing in the venturi at high rpm which is controlled by the slide height and needle position. It is explained in post #5.

I read the post but I may misunderstand. I see you checked the gas for water, but have you completely changed the gas? It sounds silly but a few years ago I had similar problems with a four wheeler I was repairing. The gas was fresh from the pump, but had somehow degraded.

Yes I’ve changed the gas completely 2 times now the only things I can really think of is the cdi is maybe bad or the carb itself has an issue because I’ve been running this setup for about 4 months without changing anything and then it just started acting up out of nowhere so it doesn’t make sense to me that the needle would need shimmed or anything like that because that needle has worked fine and the 17/40 gearing being too tall doesn’t make sense either because I’ve been running that gearing a long time too getting speeds of 70+ and every gear having snappy power so I really think the cdi might be the issue. Anyone have a link for an aftermarket cdi?

I recall telling you in one of your other threads that a CDI Going out causes pretty much all of the symptoms.

Also, have you even checked the other thread you made on that very subject, where myself and a couple others responded?

This is why I suggest to keeping everything in one spot.

Maybe? As for the CDI I’ve been trying to find one but every one that I look at that says it fits the Hawk the reviews say it broke or didn’t work right or retarded the timing so much that it broke the bike… sooooo anyone have any links to a somewhat affordable CDI that won’t break my bike?
I am sorry but I can't help with a link to a CDI or part number. I see that you have acknowledged this clue about the CDI but just don't know what fits.

Maybe someone that knows about the Hawk can give you a hand here.

While you wait, shimming the needle is a 1 hour operation, max. Until you get a CDI unit, you may as well rule out the possibility that something did change in the carb. Is your spark plug looking white?

Worse case scenario, it isn't a fuel related issue and you remove the shim. Otherwise, wait until you get a CDI unit.

Here is your thread from 12 days ago asking about a CDI. I did not notice it before, but there is more than one recommendation with links, so you've already got your answer. I was unaware that you've already asked about this:
