The reference to speed has to do with engine break in and increased power, not top speed when limited by gearing. You won't see much more speed without different gearing.

thought you might like to see this vid,it talks about ways to make the necessary changes to a bike that has efi to go along with changes to air flo via exhaust /intake or both.

Then got a NGK iridium plug at Oreillys, much better. So before I was even tagged and ready to ride I had a JTF 1264.17 front sprocket delivered believe it or not from Walmart.com. I drove it for about 80 miles in two weeks this month and decided the rpms are a little high at 60mph (during break in, was a little nervous to exceed 8k rpms. This week I loosened the chain, pulled off the front sprocket cover and swapped it out with 17 tooth for the original 15 tooth. Little tight putting the cover back on, had to move the bike in gear to make it go on. But what a difference, big improvement in rpms going down the road at 50-55mph. Feels so much better cruising long distances. Will report actual rpms later as I ride on weekend. Anyways, here it is with new mirrors and a Givi 29L tail box.
Does this have the NHTSA label attached?

Xpect E-bay Windscreen

Got this windscreen for Yamaha MT-07 for $21 and 4 stainless bolts for $4. total cost $25 and about 1.5 hours of careful drilling into the headlight assembly. Ebay item Item ID: 372924911657.
Ran the bike finally to get some speed # after sprocket. Here is what i was able to see:
50 mph about 6000 rpm
60 mph about 7100 rpm
and the very short time I ran max speed was 72 on speedo. Still have under 300 miles on the bike. Windscreen sure makes the bike look a little bigger and less buffeting at 55mph.

Bike is running better. Around 280 miles on it, at first it stalled often at idle. Now after riding it easy for long duration (state park where speed limit is 25mph and a quite long trip, it just seems to be finally broken in. I changed the oil before ever starting it and again at 100 miles, just feels a lot smoother running and shifting now. The chain needs attention in the first 100 miles, I had to tighten and lubricate at least twice, now its broken in and seems pretty tight. Don't be in a hurry to make it all finished in a day or two, I had to send my MCO back and wait over 30 to legally drive with a tag on the road. Its not a race bike, but with the sprocket change and few other things I love it for the money. Like I said before 8000k rpm at 60 mph was just too buzzy and nervous for me. At my 7000-7100 rpm at 60mph its still got some power left to pass. Good luck next week with your Xpect

Received my X-Pect 4/17/20

Received my Green X-Pect Friday.

Other than it not having the matching Green on the rims (like TXPowersports and American Lifan show in the pics, and I was liking and now bummed). It was intact and no damage.

Rode it yesterday and it didn't sound quite right (kinda buzzy, hard to describe). So I put about 5 miles on it then changed the oil. The rear brake was pretty useless so I adjusted it in about 4 turns and is better, but might adjust in a few more.

Still didn't sound quite right after the oil change, so this morning I checked the valves. Sure enough, the intake valve was closed (couldn't get any of the gauges in it) and the exhaust valve was about .001.

Readjusted to .003 intake, .005 exhaust (per manual). Fired it up and it sounds much better now (I'll ride later today when it warms up).

My Hawk is loud with noisy valves so I couldn't compare to it. But our Benelli TNT135 sounds good, and now the X-Pect sounds like it.

First Impressions: Not as comfy (seat wise) as the Hawk but does sit a tad lower. Way more comfy than the Benelli. Can't speak to speed yet since it's not broke in, but the Hawk is pretty fast (considering what it is) and has quite a few mods on it. Feels heavier than the Hawk steering wise, but their about the same weight but the Hawk has taller tires.

Tires

Decided to put some tires on at 1100 miles. Got Shinko 244 4.60-17 for rear, and 2.75-19 for the front. Cycle gear about $130 with their brand Double Tough tubes. Totally impressed with the feel of the tread compared to Yuanxing tires that it came with. I can easily push the tread in on the old tires with two fingers, not with Shinkos very solid and deep tread. One note one should go with 3.00-19 for the front for slightly better height. Oh well next time..

Snapped one of the lever clamp bolts so I replaced them with shorty adjustable levers

Lifan X-Pect 200 ordered- questions for owners

Have ordered a new X-Pect 200, with EFI, after reading reviews and posts on this forum, so understand about changing the oil, ASAP, and checking the valve clearances, but what other things do you suggest I do right off? I Understand these arrive set lean and benefit from a slightly richer fuel mixture, but what’s the best and hopefully easiest way to accomplish this on an EFI model? I suspect after putting some miles on it, I might put a less restrictive slip-on muffler, and possibly improve air intake flow, but at first i would just like to get it running well, and given that it’s summer and I live in the Louisiana, an overly lean mixture that makes bikes run hot is to be avoided if possible, however I’m 71 and not looking to pull wheelies or lay rubber.
If new jets are recommended, I’d appreciate it if someone could provide a link.
Same for front sprockets- a link would be helpful.
Same for oil and filter recommendations.
Same for an external oil cooler that hopefully doesn’t take the place of the oil filter!
Thanks loads!

Welcome aboard! You have EFI so no jets to worry about. Other than the oil change and valve adjustment just put gas in it and go.

What part of Louisiana do you live?

Installed the 17 tooth sprocket, added a usb adapter, and installed some handguards. got a little over 100 miles on it so far and will probably about double that this weekend.

Hi, I’m in New Orleans where I attended a large (but peaceful on account of the city locked us out of Jackson Square for fear we’d topple the big statue of slave-owning Jackson (paranoid bunch, those city officials!)) demonstration yesterday evening.

EFI = no jets!? How about that!
Does this mean there’s no way to overcome the overly lean mixture setting I’ve heard so much about?

Thanks!
