I went down to La Marina today and checked out the SPT 350, it's a water-cooled, 350cc Chinese twin, dual disks up front, a disk in the rear & tubeless tires. I sat on it, seemed to be very solid and heavy, I didn't think the quality of the components were very good. $3500 out the door with a two year warranty is a fair price for Lima.

Pretty interesting bike. A bit of a different style, I kinda like it.
One things for sure, it's a street only bike. That exhaust pipe would be very vunerable off road. Indeed even on the street it looks like it could get damaged. The riding position looks comfortable, as does the seat. It appears to have a nice large gas tank.

I believe these are related or manufactured by the Regal company in China--the same OEM for Johnny Pag.
http://www.johnnypag.com/usa/2012-product-line The engine looks very close (sorry, I can't seem to be able to insert images) if not the same thing. Johnny Pag had a 300cc bike that looked very close to this bike a couple years ago in the US, but it has carried on under the Regal name in other countries. My guess that Regal is the source. OK, here is the SPT via Regal Raptor from Singapore http://regalraptor.com.sg/regalrapto...es/?page_id=47

Doc, It was comfortable, I thought of a V-Strom when I first looked at it, the tank is almost five gallons. culcune, the shop owner did mention Johnny Pag, must be the same, I had never heard of Johnny Pag before.

Thanks for posting the report, and the great photos of the SPT 350, OG! I like the saddle and the large fuel tank on that bike.

The Johnny Pags were a good attempt at the mainstream and were (are?) very interesting. I've read a few reviews that said they were OK bikes but with many quality control issues. The sort of thing we're used to but the general public does not favor.

I'm not gonna at that price.
Agreed. For the same money a guy oculd get a nice 5 year old low mileage Japanese mid sized cruiser.

Spud is right, there are not a lot of options for over 200 cc motos, I saw this Regal Raptor Davest Daytona 350 "chopper" parked on the street today, so circled back and took a few photos. It has the same engine as the SPT 350, fit and finish was good, here are the photos

That looks nice! 350cc--a very nice option as long as the price difference warrants it as compared to a 'name' brand. Regals aren't known for being bulletproof, but they are intriguing as far as Chinese motorcycles go.

That saddle looks nice; very Corbin-like. The swingarm is quite similar to a Softail.

I had to throw this into the mix, the Honda XRE300, it's a 300cc fuel injected (!) single built in Brazil for the South American market. Not in Peru yet but they are available in Brazil, Argentina, Chile & Ecuador, I've read on the Peruvian moto forums that it is coming here. This one is worth getting excited about. http://www4.honda.com.br/hondaxre300/#/home
