I NEED A NAP.

Ok worked pretty hard at it today, My buddy came over and we hauled the bike to the wash...He stuck around and helped me strip off some parts and other stuff. After he took off I got to spraying. Once I start I have a hard time stopping so I went until about an hour ago and hit the block wall that is......I need parts. So I pulled the bike inside because now people will want to steal it And here are the pics

I'M fricken starving, TIME FOR SOME MAN FUEL

Looks good. Did you use high temp paint on the engine.

I will send that kill switch. Probably get it out this afternoon. Looks like she could almost ride it.

Also have you check denniskirk for aftermarket plastic?

Yes sir, The engine got a coat of high temp enamal, And the frame got anti rust enamal....Course some of it over lapped while spraying but hey it's not a show bike The exhaust and black parts are all stove paint. Once the switch arrives I'll pop her on too swift.....Bad new is that the rear rim and hub are shot.....Rims out of true and missing spokes hub has a crack. Never know what You will find when you get em apart ya know.

Best bet is to go to ebay. New will be too expensive.

You may find someone parting a bike that has everything you need.

Cool , I checked out dennis kirk and they have a red fender that everyone else is out of, Now I know where these oddball side panels came from........Same brand. So I can order an OE front fender cheaper but I can get and aftermarket rear.... 8O  I guess I'll order my accelrator sleeve and live witht he perches i have  and get new handles. I wanted to make it look like a 2000 model, but screw it I'll make it look like my model

Awesome Kato, That will be a big help....Those were holding me up as You can tell by the pics

Thanks Speedsouth, If it were a vintage bike I would have gone very slow and checked every bolt...But I am just going to trade this for a honda 50 so I am not worried about the fine details....This might be my new career

Well It seemed a bit bright on thepaint for me so I took some clear and sprayed over it and it did dull down the silver enough...My buddy has a new lever he gave me and I ordered the throttle tube and some grips for it...And have a bid on a rear wheel and hub assbly on ebay going. With Katos pegs and kill switch and brake rod that only leaves.

Tires, Back seems good enough might just do the front
Front fender,
Rear fender,
Number plate,
decals.
Fork boots.....Heck what a short list now
So lets see, I have spent about 50 bucks in paint and supplies, 45 on the seat six at the car wash, and will prbably spend another 150 on the last parts maybe 200.......So after all that maybe three hundred for a complete bike.......I love knowing how to fix things
I put the old tattered plastics back on so I don't lose anymore screws  I had to ride it

That cat knows exactly how I feel

Well not much to update, Daughter installed the new throttle tube and grips.....Still gotta go pick up the lever. And kinda at a stand still.....I am waiting to order the fenders until next payday after that I am simply going to sand and paint the number plate. it will be good enough as is. Should be done by the middle of july. Because of the size and age of the bike most probably would have just bashed it until death or thrown it away....This proves that even an ugly old turd can look good again.
So theres hope for me
